The world waited for Barney Fife's re-imagination of Dolemite.

Rare costume tests of Don Knotts as Dr. Hunter S. Thompson for an aborted earlier adaptation of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. In the running for the role of Dr. Gonzo were Oliver Reed, Ross Martin, and Victor French.
BTW, we used to joke that Mount Pilot must be a pretty rocking town compared to Mayberry, it seemed you had to go there to get a legal drink or get laid. I mean if Helen Crump is a prime catch.......

When Barney's double life as the Mack Daddy of Mayberry ("Nip It before I Whip It" being his phrase to keep his ho's in line) was uncovered, Gomer was forced to make a "Citizen's Arrest" since Andy was on the take to turn a blind eye. Even more shocking was the gay hookup joint being run out of Floyd's Barbershop.
