So me and my dad were talking about the new "I Am Legend" when I said it was basically a remake of "The Omega Man." My dad then proceeded to tell me this:

"The Omega Man? Is that the one with the guy with the robot arm? But he's missing all his fingers. And he's going around the country trying to collect all the rest of his fingers. Meanwhile, these people are chasing him. And when he finally gets all his fingers, he can think."

Ever since then I've been trying to figure out what the hell my dad was talking about. Is this an actually movie or just some drug-induced dream? Because if it exist, I must see it.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

Yep. Gerry's right. Here's a review from Scifilm's TV Files written by Dr. Mality: http://www.scifilm.org/tv/outerlimits/outerlimits2-5.html

I Am Legend is actually an adaptation of a Richard Matheson story of the same name, as was The Omega Man.  The story has been re-released to cash in on the movie, you should check it out if you haven't ever read it.

Also see The Last Man on Earth, the first movie adaptation of I Am Legend, starring Vincent Price.
