Why do people always run to the grocery store for milk, eggs and bread when they hear a snow storm is coming? Does a large portion of the population crave French toast when it snows?
Its because they don't take lessons from the South

If they apply the Louisiana logic of stocking up during a snow storm then they would be fine.
yeah no.

Ever tried to help a loved-one who has substance abuse problems? They reach out to you with one hand and claw at your eyes with the other.

The eye-clawing's just a distraction while the other hand's going for your wallet or purse.

But yes, I have. Highly recommended if you enjoy feeling hopeless and paranoid.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

As life goes by I find myself wondering about certain things more than others, those ticklish thoughts that whimsically puzzle me as the current of life takes me onward toward the river's end. Did ALF ever come back? Why are they still able to pull off the Blarney Stone scam on gullible Americans? Where do laps go when you stand up? Did the school librarian really live in the library like Mary Baxter told me in second grade? Was that guy at SXSW telling the truth about that not being a wedding ring? Why was Ambrose Bierce such a douchebag as to go looking for Pancho Villa? If God is almighty, why does artificial grape taste so much better than natural grape? Why do dentists want us to brush our teeth? Why do leftist activists like donning a mask to look like a 17th century reactionary Catholic supremacist? What was up with the hearse that night? What if we'd stayed in Burlington? How far would I have gone in the USTA? Did divine intervention once save my life by making an email bounce back? How come so many good '80s songs had meaningless lyrics? Did fate use my mother's inability to be on time, or is everything a natural outgrowth of prevailing circumstances? Why did I ask for a hair crimper for my tenth birthday? Why do I like cemeteries but hate death? Am I the hero or villain of my own life? Did my grandson really time travel back and meet me when I was four?

You know, just normal thoughts.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

In middle school my friend read a lot of Judy Blume books, an author I simply could not get into at all, but something that does stick out in my mind is that in one of these Judy Blume novels a character always rated her days, grading them from F- to A+. If I were to follow that system, today would certainly have earned an A. May everyone here soon have their own very good day.

Did they let you read Forever?  That one was rather...uh.. different than her other works.

I always thought Rod Blagojevich looked eerily like a young Steven King.

And come to think of it, how do you get a "v" sound from the "ph"?  Shouldn't it technically be pronounced Stefen King?

If someone wants to have a rational discussion and someone else posts √2, would they be too radical or too extreme?

Staying in tonight.  Do we watch all three Leprechaun movies?  There's enough beer.

There's actually 6 in the Warwick Davis series, but, given the declining quality :bouncegiggle:, yeah, stick with the original three.

Good to know.  I only have the first three - bought them in a set.

Seems hard to believe one fridge could hold enough beer to endure all 3 LEPRECHAUN movies!
