Cthulhu has Landed

In the Latest Member entry, I see that Cthulhu has appeared.

My first thought was 'that's the first time someone has thought of using that?'.

It made me wonder what other potential user names, that may seem obvious possibilities, have not been claimed.


If there is a John Holmes in the house, will you please stand up.

I was with Cthulu logged on this morning. By the looks of the other guys on with us, he brought friends; Cthulhu. VogNhymn. Wortcov. And ermm.... asimpson2006. Well, though I don't have much experience with the author those names certainly sound Lovecraftian to me. Oddly despite these strange new arrivals the board actually seems to have calmed down and gotten saner lately. That crrrrrrrrrrazy Lovecraft, eh?

I have been here since may 07, but I haven't have much to say about stuff (only got 40 posts).

and for the record, my name is not inspired by lovecraft, just Wanted to make that clear...

I was very original when it came to choose my screen name ~ it be de one my muddah und faddah give to me.

If I had thought of it earlier I would probably have picked some onomatopoeic name, like Ah-nold or Oo-feh. Now guess who these two are.... And now guess what "onomatopoeic" means....

Anyway, I was inspired by this post to have a look at the member list and fiddle around a bit.

Absolutely flabbergasting: There are 342 members with no more than 0 posts! Is there some secret gadget hidden somewhere around here that can only be seen or used when registered? Tell me, please, I want to have it too! Otherwise I cannot think of a reason to be registered other than post some stuff here...

But the answer is of course hidden in the number of silent users (if you skip the first digit).

People probably thought it would be to much..or to simple...or somebody probably had taken a popular name already.

I took "WingedSerpent" form a movie, but I had a couple other ideas before settleing.
