As everyone knows video game based movies usually are just dreck. You'll get the occaisional good ones, for example Mortal Kombat and maybe Tomb Raider. But if you could get a really good video game based movie what game would you like to see turned into a movie?
I'd like to see Metal Gear Solid 3 turned into a movie. If only because it has one of the best stories and plot twist in a video game that i've ever seen.

I love Metal Gear!!! However, I'm in the camp that doesn't want to see it as a movie.

Games I wouldn't mind seeing as films...

I don't really play a lot of games but. .

Dungeon Keeper

Waxwork (this would make an awesome horror movie)

Leisure Suit Larry (Directed by John Waters)

Wasteland/Fallout

Prince of Persia

Veil of Darkness (could make an awesome suspense/thriller)

Gauntlet (better as a TV series)

Elite (could also work as a TV series)

Star Raiders/Space Raiders (ancient Atari game that had a comic adaptation.)

Adventure (ancient Atari game with a very simple fantasy premise that Hollywood can't possibly foul up)

Leather Goddesses of Phobos (dir by John Waters)

Blake Stone (this could be fun)

Corridor 7 (technically made as DOOM but...)

Doom (a movie actually following the GAME STORY)

And ANY of the Gold Box D&D games.  An adaptation of those can't possibly be any worse than the official D&D movies.

I think Parasite Eve would make a good movie (yeah, I know there's a movie with the title out there, but from what I've heard it has virtually NOTHING to do with the game.)

Can't help but think Chronotrigger would make an awesome movie.  I see it as an anime film myself.

(BTW, whatever happened to that series?  They had a sequel, ChronoCross, and then, nothing...)

Very simple basic game that is extreme great.  It could make a good movie or a good straight to DVD movie.

Devil May Cry would make a good action movie.
Golden Axe.
War of the Monsters from PS2

One game that I absouletly love is Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube.  It's a very Lovecraftian game.  You would need either a mini-series or a tv show to really flesh out the story and get the full effect.  And make it a cable series so nothing would be toned down.

I like the way you think. Maybe give Waters a shot at "Custer's Revenge" also.

Now that you mention it Angelina Joile would be perfect for the role of "adventurer" in ADVENTURE, Brad Pitt could play the bat-creature, and Dennis Hopper could be the Dragons (both of 'em).

That's some BRILLIANT casting you came up with Rev. Powell!

 Cheers

Think a friend had something like that for C=64.  He had a disc full of weird games like that.  Don't remember much about them, save there was one that had a camel in it and it was apparently a porno version of some popular trading game or somesuch.

But the "adult" games really worthy of a movie adaptation were the special agent hentai RPGs.  Those were silly-fun, sort of like porn Tetris, with the "revealed" pics getting more and more risque the further into the game you got.

I've said too much haven't I?
