I don't know, it's weak and not scary at all. The murder scenes are dumb even for 1980 standards.

I like it.  The stalking scene in the school, with the killer chasing one of the girls through the auto shop is really suspenseful.  And the bad girl is quite entertaining, her scenes with the stupid jock just seem to work for some reason.  The correct amount of cheese perhaps.  I also like how mean the little kids are at the beginning.  It's definitely got some problems, but I like to give it a spin in the DVD player every once in a while.

I'll admit it's not scary and I do find it a bit dull, but I'd take it any day over any horror released in the last ten years.

The movie also seemed very dark, and you couldn't see what happens when the lights aren't on.

Oh, come on. Isn't that what happens when you have a bad dream?  Horror movies should be like bad dreams. Okay, not as slow as "Prom Night", but still....

It is a perfect example, along with "Terror Train", of how Jamie Lee Curtis's career was going until she took better roles. I think it is a hoot. Not an action-fest, but definitely a sterling example of its era.

I liked it better than the remake. It's not a great film by any means but well there's Jamie Lee and Leslie Nielsen so it has its moments. Personally though I think it's inferior to its first sequel and not much better than its later ones.

Then how come people hate Manos? That was a whooooole lot more dreamlike than Prom Night X)

I can't believe I'm saying this but I like the remake better, the killer was pretty damn creepy in that one and the plot was paced a bit better >.>

When there's no more ideas in Hollywood, the remakes will walk the earth.
