I had a couple of minor run-ins with the cops when I was much younger. Two or three times. It was always a case of overdoing it and turning up someplace with no idea how I got there. I'd walk home from the bar and wind up sitting, or in one case sleeping, at the side of some street that was way off the route I'd taken home. I always liked taking walks on summer nights when everything was quiet and peaceful. I suppose I just wanted to make the walk home last a bit longer. Who knows? Anyway, I got picked up by the cops, who ran my driver's licence, found nothing of interest and drove me home. I certainly could have gotten charged with something, but I was fortunate that my dad was only a few years retired from the same police department.
