That's pretty much always been Mel Gibson.  Charming in public, a man who tries to do good some of the time, but a drunk with serious anger problems who falls into racism in a pinch. 

I'd compare him to a Tennessee Williams character.  In 20 years maybe he can play Big Daddy.

I used to have a great deal of respect for him, but his drunken  tirades, and most of all, him ditching his wife of some 29 years for  a hot piece of tail, just utterly turned me off. It's a shame that the man who gave us THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST has sunk to this. I hope, somehow, he will find redemption.

Is it just me, or is this kind of thing slowly becoming more common in Hollywood? Granted, maybe it was just better hidden in the past because people couldn't publish things themselves on an international scale.
