I watched Woody Allens "Interiors" and "Bigger Faster Stronger" a documentary about steroids the other night. The contradicton between the two was apparent but they were both good. I was thinking what would be some other strange pairings"

1. Brian's song / Cruising

2. Jaws / On Gold Pond

3. Pretty Woman / Lilya 4-Ever

4. Screwballs 2 loose screws / Through a Glass Darkly

5. The Garbage Pail Kids Movie / Kramer vs Kramer

any?

Here's a real one:

Our local theater featured this irresistible double bill one memorable Saturday in the early 70's:

THE COMPUTER WORE TENNIS SHOES/HATCHET FOR A HONEYMOON

One of my best days at the movies - ever!  Thumbup

I'm pretty sure the first time I saw GREASE at the drive-in, the companion feature was BARBARELLA.

Okay, not really a double bill per se, but they were on the same marquee playing in the same theater in a multiplex:
Law Abiding Citizen/Michael Jackson (This is it)  BounceGiggle
~also~
More fitting (MUCH more fitting!) one I saw on a local theater marquee:
Inside Man/Brokeback Mountain

Our theater advertised and showed this double bill once:

Micki + Maude (1984) / The Hearse (1980)

Such a strange pairing, but we went to see it anyway.

They also did pretty cool ones like:

Aliens (1986) / The Fly (1986)

and:

RoboCop (1987) / Predator (1987)

I once saw The Fugitive and Passenger 57 on a double bill way back in 1993. That was fun.  Thumbup

retro russell - "Inside Man/Brokeback Mountain"  Thumbup

Raffine- I've never seen computer wore tennis shoes but some of that live action Disney stuff is pretty wacky. maybe not quite wacky enough to be on a bill with Hatchet for the Honeymoon though. awesome

I think an odd double bill would be Troll / Troll 2, since they have NOTHING to do with one another.  It would be made even more odd by the fact that most people would understandably assume that they do have something to do with each other, so the perplexity level would be raised.  (I guess you could do the same for Halloween 2/Halloween 3 or Silent Night Deadly Night 3/4, but that's the only 1 & 2 that I can think of like that).

Another interesting double bill would be Passion of the Christ / Battleship Earth.

Or Attack of the 50 Foot Woman / Willow.

Or Black Christmas / Christmas Story (same director, so maybe not that weird)

Last one:  The Room / absolutely any other movie

Maybe not odd when they're both sci-fi, but one was rated G and one rated R:
Star Trek: The Motion Picture/Alien
