Great review,Neville! ROBOCOP is a classic! I freaked when THAT 70's SHOW came out-"CLARENCE! ITS CLARENCE!"
One of my favorite catchphrases from the film (along with the Dollar Guy quote)
"b***hes leave!"
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W6cT3Tvu9g" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W6cT3Tvu9g</a>

I rate "b***hes leave" among the all-time great movie lines. BounceGiggle It just gets straight to the point, and Kurtwood Smith delivers it perfectly.

And I agree, "I'd buy that for a dollar" is classic.

Thanks for the review. Good stuff.

I am proud to say I have never seen any of the sequels. The original was one of those that I refused to sully.

Deeply and horrifically offended by it all - USA Network asked us to do a series as The Satan's Onions Biker Gang before Orion hit us with the lawsuit - all of that offer was gone when the lawsuit went to court - "Parody" was apperntly not part of the Orion lexicon -

Robocop is in my top 10 fav movies all time.  Science fiction, sarcasm & philosophy go well together for some movies.   TongueOut

One of my favorite movies.  Back in 09 I actually got to see a 35mm print of the R rated cut at a revival house theater. Very fun, and something I didn't get to do in 1987 because I was 3.

Also the mill scenes were shot right across the river from where I grew up in the rustbelt town, Monessen, PA.

A lot of these towers are no longer standing. This location is also directly across from the Savini Makeup FX school.

RoboCop is my favorite movie ever. I saw it in a theatre back in 87 (I was seventeen at the time) and at that point it was the single most VIOLENT movie I had ever seen in my life. Naturally, I loved it.  TeddyR Between the balls-out action, the gore, the black comedy, the sci-fi elements, it was like a really kick-ass comic book come to life.

I've seen it dozens of times since then and I'm generally not a person who watches movies repeatedly. I just never get tired of it.

Didn't mind "RC2" but "RC3" was just... ick. "Lookie kids, RoboCop can FLY! Make sure to tell Mom & Dad to stop at Toys R Us on the way home from the theatre to pickup the All New Robocop Jet Force Action Figure!" -- ugh.
