this movie is really long and boring up until a nice girl blonde girl gets killed at which point it turns awesome

at the end the son has made something of a college of his mother using the dead students he called his girlfriend or wife, can't remember which

Sounds like what the killer does in Pieces but that movie isn't particularly long.

Sounds kind of like The House That Screamed (1969).  Was it an older or newer film?
