EDIT: Okay, this might be tough, because I actually have not SEEN the movie, I only read a description of it in a catalog.  The movie's title sounds German (like "Das" something) and I believe it's about these mobsters (or criminals or something) that get into a fight with this other group of people.  According to the description the problem with these guys is, "They always come back.  You can shoot them, stab them, chop them into little pieces, and yet that still doesn't stop them."  

Dunno, the premise sounds interesting, but I've heard the movie itself is REAL low budget.  

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Is it possible that you've conflated 'Das Boot' (1981) and 'Shock Waves' (1977)?
