Does ANYBODY remember this guy?

I'm possibly in the wrong area to post this, but it does concern mostly bad movies, so here I go!

I've been trying to get my Youtube channel, Deranged Visions, up and running over the last year or so. After trying a few different approaches, I have settled on 3 formats that I will post in:

Deranged Visions in the Classroom -- This is pretty much what you might think it is, which is classroom and instructional films for the most part. I only have two of these up so far, but I will be posting more.

Episode 1: Social Skills -- https://youtu.be/-tw3Bw6VsbU

Episode 2: Girl Talk  -- https://youtu.be/ZjSHdhGekxU

Deranged Visions in Documentaries -- Again, pretty straightforward. These are documentaries of various types, usually a bit old (60s, 70s, 80s), and may include mondo titles as well as straight documentaries. Ones that I don't consider to be terribly serious (in spite of some gruesome footage), I use a special intro/closing segments that I hope will be considered humorous. Just like the last format, I only have two titles up. One required a touch of editing to get it viewable on Youtube, but I maintained the theme of the segment, even though the subject was the ill-fated 1973 Indy 500.

Episode 1: This is America AKA Jabberwalk (1977) -- https://youtu.be/o3cMpaj_5pk

Episode 2: This is America Part 2 (1980) -- https://youtu.be/0Gf4EBY5bUE

Deranged Visions Theatre -- This is an attempt to combine drive-in/grindhouse material with items that would be at home on USA Network's classic Night Flight series. The structure tends to stay the same each episode, but with different material: A lead-in clip>Titles>usually something musical>snack bar ads>3 to 5 trailers for other weird movies>the feature presentation>end credits>closing clip. Almost all of them are under 2 hours so far, so they would make for an evening's entertainment.

Episode 1: A Scream in the Streets -- https://youtu.be/930ZfbvlhUw

Episode 2: Confessions of a Serial Killer -- https://youtu.be/7poTEo8EMb8

Episode 3: Satan's Black Wedding -- https://youtu.be/3dsDfdYuM9k

Episode 4: Cheerleader Camp -- https://youtu.be/xAHvhUhPbA4

Episode 5: Trick or Treat -- https://youtu.be/FbzpLZO138E

Episode 6: Invitation to Ruin AKA The Invitation -- https://youtu.be/lzgExa5sW30

Episode 7: .357 Magnum -- https://youtu.be/WyzIq5-zwXQ

Episode 8: Open House -- https://youtu.be/ufF0iwA-2s4

Episode 9: The Candy Snatchers -- https://youtu.be/v--CcH0KH7k

All episodes of each format are age restricted for two reasons: First, often the subject matter involves violence, nudity, foul language, and questionable subjects; second, I do not intend to make money off of these through Youtube, and age restricting the videos blocks all options to monetize the episodes.

If I can introduce new people to weird cinema and maybe teach them a little about film genres and such, then I'm fairly content with what I'm doing.

Check the films out if you would like. I'll be posting more as I have roughly 200+ titles to attempt to bring to Youtube. Oh, if you have an obscure or long out-of-print title you'd like to see, let me know. I'll see what I can find. NO PORN!! Nudie-cuties, roughies, sickies, and ghoulies are okay, though.

I can't take the pressure.   Cheers

Good? Not sure if that is the word I would use. The best one so far is THE CANDY SNATCHERS. If you haven't seen it, give it a spin. I'd LOVE to see the Coen Brothers remake it.

Other than that, if you want BAD, try .357 MAGNUM. Almost jaw-dropping in its badness.

And thanks for subscribing. I'll try to keep posting at least one new episode of one format or another each week.

Plus, I have 2 or 3 new subscribers. Hard to tell as it seems to go up and down depending on when and where I check, but I'll take as many as I can get. Thank you!!

UPDATE:

Deranged Visions Theater -- Episode 10: Terror on Tour (1980)  https://youtu.be/ofDV88GF1R0

A dark (literally, how small was the lighting budget, folks?) tale of a KISS-like group whose on-stage antics happen for real off stage, leading to nudity and death (not always in that order).

Yeah, grab your crash helmets. This movie is a wreck waiting to happen.

I'm right now watching the previews before Trick Or Treat.  The Devil's Wedding Night looks like cheesy fun.

I'm right now watching the previews before Trick Or Treat.  The Devil's Wedding Night looks like cheesy fun.

It's fairly easy to access. Worth watching. If you just can't find it, let me know. I'll do some checking to see if it is a title I feel comfortable posting. To be honest, I think it would be a good fit, so thank you for the suggestion!  Cheers

Let me try to explain, briefly, how I select films: I do my best to check IMDb and Amazon for current, legit releases on DVD and BD. If the title is considered lost, never converted to digital formats, or long out of print (OOP) so that you are paying 50+ bucks for a copy, AND I can find a copy of it somewhere, I'll post it, usually.

Yes, Rev, I know that doesn't make these movies public domain, and I risk getting a block on my Youtube account, but, since I do not intend to make money off of these Youtube videos, I am more than willing to delete a title if a current DVD release could be impacted directly or if the actual owner wants me to pull it. I'm not saying what I'm doing is right, but my intent is to show what drive-ins and grindhouses used to show as a historical/sociological/cultural document of how things used to be.

Expect more episodes this weekend. I have a great one lined up for DV Theatre. Insane and oddly well-crafted British killer-thriller from 1972. Blew me away when I watched it.

UPDATE!!

Deranged Visions Theatre: Episode 11 -- The Fiend AKA Beware My Brethren (1972)

This was a happy discovery for me. I like Patrick Magee in most anything. Here, he gets to both chew scenery and do a rather creepy dramatic turn. Outside of his performance, you get sleaze, religion, sex, murder, obsession, and a rather odd turn into lesbian overtures when you least expect it. My jaw dropped. Why? Because the bloody thing is British! Sex, religion, violence AND nudity together, in multiple scenes? Not allowed, thank you, yet here it is, along with a couple of shockingly good musical numbers.

Yes. "Musical numbers". During murder scenes. Just...watch it. It is different if nothing else.

You're being as responsible about copyright infringement as anyone can be.  Wink

The idea of legislation that would legalize this--"orphan works," they're called--is floated a lot. Pretty much everyone supports the idea of protecting users of orphan works from liability but nothing will likely come of it because there's no one has a strong interest in lobbying for it, either. If Congress ever does a comprehensive copyright overhaul the issue will probably come up.

UPDATE!!!

Two new episodes!

Deranged Visions in Documentaries:  Episode 5 -- Beyond and Back (1978)  https://youtu.be/HvpaA48xC0g

Remember the old Sunn Classic films that would invade your world and flood your local channels with ads until you were pretty much brainwashed into seeing the damned things? No? Then you are either lucky or too young to have experienced the hype. You can still marvel at what people went to in droves when herded properly.

Near death experiences. Wild stuff. It saddens me that I have yet to hear of a Hardees restaurant in the afterlife. Maybe Morgan Spurlock can do a sequel about how eating in the afterlife makes you fat.

AND

Deranged Visions in the Classroom:  Episode 4 -- Food Day!  https://youtu.be/UlBA6duDVM4

Who doesn't like food? Okay, maybe Karen Carpenter, but the rest of us love the stuff. Learn how to eat, learn what to eat, learn how to make something to eat, and learn how to slice the s**t out of what you eat.

The jewel of this collection is CARVING MAGIC. Why? Two reasons: William Kerwin and a rather young Harvey Korman. Harvey Korman you should probably know, but maybe not William Kerwin. He worked a lot with H.G. Lewis, showing up in nudie cuties, roughies, and splatter flicks made by the Godfather of Gore. He even co-starred with Harvey Korman in LIVING VENUS, the basic origin for the roughie films and made by H.G. Lewis himself!

Give them a spin. You get a bit of nostalgia and a lot of weirdness, all of it put together with love and the occasional string of off-color words.

UPDATE!!!

Two new episodes at Deranged Visions.

Deranged Visions Theatre: Toys Are Not For Children (1972)  https://youtu.be/Necd6SBIS2Y

Weirdness and icky vibes add tone to a rather sleazy tale of a child's love for her daddy. Even if you see how this thing ends 20 minutes in, the filmmakers take it one extra step. Yup, you'll want a hot shower with steel wool after this film.

On the upside, you'll have the tune "Ol' Ben Lucas" stuck in your head for days after watching the episode.

Plus

Deranged Visions in the Classroom:  Perversion or Free Enterprise?  https://youtu.be/xIUxRXSiQuQ

Two films about either the moral decay of our society due to smut or a shocking expose of those self-righteous prudes who seek to undermine free enterprise and our freedom and rights as Americans. You decide. At least you get to see some interesting vintage smut novels.

I was going to post OF THE DEAD, a documentary, but it kept getting blocked. I'd love to speak with the French company blocking the videos and see if they have any intention of releasing the film or allowing some other company to license it for a DVD/BD release.

Looks like I might try SHOCKING ASIA next.

UPDATE!!!

New Episode!

Deranged Visions Theatre:  Doin' Time on Planet Earth (1988)  https://youtu.be/VJkC6nuLkCQ

A quirky comedy from the 80s. It looks cheesy. It IS cheesy, but completely enjoyable. Teen thinks he may be an alien and weird hi-jinks ensue. Look for Adam West in a loud shirt and a surprise cameo for Roddy McDowell.

Set your expectations low and just go with the movie. First, you'll need to sit through a rather "pointed" rectal exam from BLACK CANDLES.

Wow, where did you find that short opening skit (film?) about the two hunters that plays before "Toys Are Not Meant For Children"?  That was so insane and yet hilarious.

Wow, where did you find that shorting opening skit (film?) about the two hunters that plays before "Toys Are Not Meant For Children"?  That was so insane and yet hilarious.

It's from a movie called PRIME TIME (aka AMERICAN RASPBERRY). It's in the same vein as KENTUCKY FRIED MOVIE. You can watch the whole thing on Youtube. Pretty funny as long as you aren't too PC-minded. I would post it myself but the only existing copy I've ever seen is a rather soft and dark VHS rip. Warner Bros. released it, and I think they instantly scuttled the thing. If a good 35mm print could be found, I think there are a few companies who would release it, if WB allowed them.

And thanks for watching. I've lost two subscribers. When you have only 12, you feel a little hurt when a couple of them leave.
