Need Help With Movie

This is for a friend at work who saw this when he was a kid (he says he dosen't think it was a "kid" movie) Here's what he can remember:

A scene in an abandoned church where the light is dusty, there's a white furry (bigfoot type) monster crawling on the scaffolding at the top. A man is following behind him, and the scaffolding begins to fall. Color film, possibly early 80's.  

Any ideas?

Can you get any additional details?  This is not a whole lot to go by.

I know, i'm afraid that's all he can remember. I thought maybe the part with the scaffold and church and creature might ring a bell. He seemed sure it was a movie and not a tv show or "kids movie" but who knows. Guess he'll never know..but then not so long ago someone here helped me fiture out a movie where all i could remember was some weird lagoon creature and a scene on a boat with rain and maybe a woman in yellow rainboots or a raincoat. Zaat.  sometimes small details ring a bell for someone who knows the film. Well i tried! He can't be mad at me :)
