Also, I want to say for the record, once again, that I used to think about crap like this looong before it became mainstream.  (Yeah, I know, I sound bitter, for that I apologize, but it's true dang it!)

National Geographic channel did a special a few years ago saying that the US also has a plan for in case of an alien invasion.

And the point of these plans is more for thinking about holes in defense, and how we might deal with attacks we've not encountered before, rather then actually believing the world will fall to a zombie apocalypse or an alien invasion.
