Title: DVD releases you'd like to see? Post by: Kester Pelagius on July 24, 2007, 05:14:20 PM edit: subj line formerly - "The DVD Wish List Game!"
Over at Latarnia in this thread (http://p210.ezboard.com/Two-More-Mill-Creek-50-Movie-Packs/fthelatarniaforumsfrm10.showMessage?topicID=518.topic) the topic of Mill Creek 50 movie packs got turned around to 50 movie pack wish lists. An interesting quandry. There's hundreds of movies out there that have yet to see a proper DVD release and hundreds more with "shady" releases. So many titles to wish for yet. . If you could take over one of the numerous "shady" labels for a day and had the ability to release any title you wanted, I mean ANYTHING, what PD "wink wink, nudge nudge" movies would you release? I'll start. (Cover art isn't required but if you think you can create a fun one then go for it!) How about. . (http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/5139/raunchyromansf2tt8.jpg) RAUNCHY ROMANS* THE AMAZONS (1974) AMAZONS OF ROME (1961) AMAZONS VS. ROME) How's that for a DVD wish? (*) Being Mill Creek I've put together a typical line-up of half a dozen flicks that actually fit the box title, including a few double dips and some fun filler. :D Title: Re: The DVD Wish List Game! My list would be Dubbed versions of Shaw Brothers Classics esp Venom Mob flicks. Title: Re: The DVD Wish List Game! Post by: raj on August 23, 2007, 02:03:21 PM They've finally released The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yaks and my copy of Flash Gordon (1980 version) is winding its way through the package delivery universe so I'm a happy camper at the moment.

Title: Re: DVD releases you'd like to see? Post by: The Burgomaster on May 01, 2008, 05:43:25 PM Actually, some of the John Waters movies like MONDO TRASHO and MULTIPLE MANIACS are long overdue. And I'd like to see CRAZY JOE (not to be confused with just plain JOE) starring Peter Boyle.

Title: Re: DVD releases you'd like to see? Post by: RCMerchant on May 01, 2008, 08:01:54 PM This is a fantasy wish, right? OK-
THE HEAD OF JANUS (1920) with Conrad Veidt and...yes...thats right...Bela Lugosi! LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT-the lost Tod Browning / Chaney classic. the WIZARD-lost silent with Gustav(SPARROWS) Von Seyfrritiz (I know I spelled that wrong...) The MAGIGIAN-directed by Rex Ingram and starring Paul Weagner. The GOLEM and the BALLARINA (1917) with Paul again. LOCK UP YOUR DAUGHTERS (195?) Lost Lugosi compilation made in England....some sources ay Bela narrates onscreen...others say off screen. Nevertheless...he does call this film his 'obituary'. Title: Re: DVD releases you'd like to see? Post by: Kester Pelagius on May 02, 2008, 10:25:27 AM This is a fantasy wish, right? In a manner of speaking, so long as it's a real movie. ie: Yeah for THEDA BARA'S CLEOPATRA, but nay for FLESH GORDON - INVASION OF THE LEZBOTS; which exists only in my fevered imagination. Title: Re: DVD releases you'd like to see? I think there are some complicated music rights (or something) holding these up, particularly with MONDO TRASHO. Or could it be the world is still not ready for Lobstora and the "Puke Eater"? Title: Re: DVD releases you'd like to see? Post by: The Burgomaster on May 06, 2008, 04:45:41 PM Raffine: Yeah, MONDO TRASHO did have a lot of vintage 1950s music on the soundtrack. Of course, it sounded like Waters was holding a microphone up to a hi-fi speaker and playing an old, scratched 45 . . .

Post by: Kester Pelagius on May 06, 2008, 04:51:02 PM While the 50 movie packs have made a number of films accessible, if in less than steller video releases, that aren't otherwise available there's still quite a few movies that remain untouched by the PD labels. And, like the John Waters movies, it's a mystery why they aren't on DVD. For example my (current) ultimate 80s era sci-fi Double Feature would be this....
