Title: Holy interior decorating, Batman!
Post by: sprite75 on May 07, 2017, 10:03:42 PM
A FB friend shared this listing of me of a house in New Jersey.  A house where someone really went overboard with the interior decorating;

Holy f**k, Batman.

Oh my gosh I LOVE it!  Ha!  Seriously, I do like the wallpaper a lot.  I love it when homes have personality and aren't soulless grey and white boxes.

Just posted the link at James Lileks The Bleat. James has GOT to add this to the 'Interior Desecrations' page. A whole house of riffable excess!

And here's another one (http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/clown-house-1.4105527) from our neighbors to the north;

Quote
The listing calls it a "charming brick bungalow on [a] quiet street close to schools and parks" that has been "gently lived in" and "meticulously maintained."

What it neglects to mention is the home is a veritable shrine to clowns.

Everywhere you look in photos shot from inside 222 Chatham St. in Brantford, Ont., they're there — from dolls, to miniatures, to porcelain statues and paintings. It was recently listed on the market for $239,900.
Clown house

Coulrophobia (or fear of clowns) might not be classified as an official disorder by the World Health Organization, but those terrified by Stephen King's It probably won't want to step inside, all the same.

The second one is mildly amusing.  But that first one... aye Madon!!   A masterpiece of tastelessly tacky.
