I need to move my TV someplace it won't give me a crick in my neck.

About a week ago, I caught this one on late night rabbit ears called "Time Guardian".
Yesterday, I caught "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist", after re-watching "Up in Smoke" on DVD.

It's a Matrix/Gamer type movie, from the director of Ghost in the Shell  It's an ok movie.  Took a while to really get going though.

Prior to that was the Asylum rip-off  Snakes on a Train.

Pocket Ninjas

It was absolutely dreadful, I managed to fall asleep through 10 minuets of it. I have a feeling in that time I only missed amateurs practicing the same Karate move repeatedly. Literally Meaning they were probably kicking with their left leg into their air over-and-over for that time.

I'd rather watch Johnny Knoxville return a pocket @ss than watch Pocket Ninjas.

That was really bad.  I watched it too, but only because I couldn't reach the remote.

Borderland.  Actually decent, better than I expected even.  At first, I thought, "Great, another Hostel knock off."  The further in it gets, the more it begins to diverge from that, and the better and more interesting the film becomes.

SATAN'S CHILDREN

This is a must for a number of people on this board.

A red-headed stepchild (I am NOT kidding!) gets used, abused and (by his step-sister) sexually teased in his home, runs away only to be gang-raped by a bunch of beer-swilling good ol' boys and then dumped in a ditch, where he is found by a commune of Satanists.

Utter unreal and totally mind-blowing.  Pure 70's exploitation trash that starts out like a low-budget "win the downtrodden over to Christ" type movie, but this one goes SERIOUSLY off the rails.

Here is a big article on it by someone who worked on the film, but be warned, they reveal the entire story of the film:

http://www.big13.net/Satans%20Children/making_of_satans_children.htm (http://www.big13.net/Satans%20Children/making_of_satans_children.htm)

Or a review from The Cinema Snob that ALSO gives you the whole story, but it's quite funny in it's own way:

Just finished seeing Walking Tall: Lone Justice  The straight to video/tv sequel to the movie.  This one stars Kevin Sorbo of Hercules fame as a small town sheriff protecting his family from drug dealers.  A fairly unexciting action movie.

I just saw one last night called "Land Of Doom". It's set in a post-apocalypse setting with a cast I never heard of before. The story follows a man and a woman who are trying to find some settlement where people are trying to rebuild the world while being chased by a roving band of marauders who's leader wants to kill the guy for burning his face. Then in the end when they are captured by the villians, they are saved by some guy they rescued from a pack of dogs earlier and what I can only discribe as Jawa wannabes.

Last night, I watched "The Black Six", a black biker movie with NFL stars as the main characters.  They play Vietnam vets (naturally) who don't want no trouble but have no problem doling it out when they think they should.

Directed by the guy who went on to direct "Butterfly".  Yes, THAT "Butterfly", with our grownup munchkin from "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians".

No trailer available that I could find, but here is the utterly groovy funk theme song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMD6Scfu-W8

Oddly enough, it shows an image but it doesn't show anything when it is playing.

Being sick has left me with enough time to watch some recent crapfests I purchased.

Watched "The Black Fist" which is also known as "Bogard" in the original theatrical version, which apparently had more sex and wasn't missing some scenes.  The story of a down on his luck guy who gets into a streetfighting ring and then realizes he is being had on all sides.  It has Tubbs, AKA    Philip Michael Thomas, in TWO roles, and other than the accent, there ain't much difference between the two.

Bad movie that took three times to get through but I can't blame the movie entirely.  Passing out and being miserable ain't helping me focus on anything.

Here's a chunk of the film Mill Creek posted on Youtube, and it probably is NOT SAFE FOR WORK:

I Wasn't Tired Last Night , So To Pacify The Time Until I Fell Asleep I Watched A Real Turd Of A Movie Called HARVEST OF FEAR

The Movie Is About A Small Town Where Once A Year In The Fall Young College Kids Come For Sex And Drugs , But This Year , Someone Is Killing Them One By One , And It Brings Up Memories In The Townspeople Of When The Same Thing Happened Twenty Years Ago

I Know It Sounds Like A Really Cool Slasher Movie , But Don't Be Fooled Like I Was!

Good luck and a speedy recovery.

I'm about to watch Larry Buchanan's CREATURE OF DESTRUCTION, his remake of THE SHE CREATURE.

Hernia surgery would probably be less painful...

"U.S. Seals II"

A rogue ex-SEAL kidnaps a nuclear scientist and gains control of two stealth nuclear missiles.  His base is located on an island contaminated with methane, so the slightest spark (match, gunfire, etc.) will make the whole island blow up.  He threatens to destroy a major U.S. city unless he is paid one billion dollars.  Another ex-SEAL, his old partner, assembles a team of martial arts experts.  Their mission: defeat the rogue SEAL's small army of Russian commandos and rescue the scientist.

If that plot wasn't enough to convince you, everything that happens in this movie is accompanied by action "whooshing" sounds.  Everything.  If somebody turns their head, you hear a "whoosh!"  There is also a paintball gun that shoots acid paintballs.

I had the misfortune to watch "Black Shampoo".  Oh, there are worse films out there, but this movie hates EVERYBODY!!!  It hates African-Americans, gay folk, gangsters, women, men, breasts, bush...EVERYTHING!  No one gets off easy (no pun intended there).

Still, it was an interesting way to waste an hour and a half, although I think Greydon Clark should be slapped by mincing little Artie for making the thing.

Here's a VERY NSFW trailer to stir up some interest:

THE BRUTE MAN (1946) I found absolutely no joy watching this excuse to showcase poor old Rondo Hatton's deformed face. Knowing this actually somewhat follows Hatton's own sad life story (handsome college athlete developes disfiguring condition) makes it difficult to see this as much of a hoot.

It was made by Universal as something of a prequel to HOUSE OF HORRORS which also featured Hatton's 'The Creeper' character. Hatton died - and an embarrassed Universal sold it to poverty row studio PRC.

However, LASERBLAST was as much fun as it was when I originally saw it at The Marshall County Drive-In way back whenever!

Last night we watched House By The Cemetary, which is a really odd one even for Lucio Fulci. Not sure if I'll watch that one ever again unlike The Beyond, or City Of The Living Dead.

Second on the bill was Just Before Dawn, while not all that gorey for a backwoods/slasher it keeps getting better every trime I see it. The location shooting in this one is phenomenal.

My wife and I saw this one at the Starlite Drive-In, I thought it was pretty good fun, as I recall she thought the aliens were cute but the movie itself was a real piece of s#&t, and she wasn't shy about sharing her opinion.

I watched this just the other day. That misfit Alfred kid was annoying but I did like the way he ran like a monkey. In the last 30 minutes or so you get lots and lots of scenes of him running like a monkey so I was entertained.

I also enjoyed seeing Fisher Stevens get his fingers lopped off in the raft scene. He's alway bug me.

Either LASERBLAST or SCANNERS was the last movie I saw at our local drive-in before it went 'all adult'. This was a bad idea, since you could plainly see the screen from several surrounding roads and homes.

VOYAGE TO THE PREHISTORIC PLANET.  A cheesy Russian sci-fi movie dubbed into English and with scenes with Basil Rathbone inserted to make it look like a US production.  A crew of the cosmo---I mean, ASTROnauts---goes on a mission to Venus searching for two of their stranded comrades, and discover the planet is inhabited by dinosaurs.  The editing is confusing, and it takes a while to get your bearings.  Special effects are all over the place---at times the dinosaurs are obviously men in costumes, but on the other hand the hovercar looks really cool, and the robots ain't bad either.  It was heading for a 2/5 rating but I had to give it an incomplete, because my Mill Creek DVD crapped out after the octopus battle and turned it into a silent slideshow.

Make sure to now see VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN - the second feature Corman cobbled together from that terrific PLANETA BUR Russkie footage. No Rathbone, but it does have Mamie Van Doren and some other hot Venusian babes who lay around a beach on Venus worshiping a rubber pterodactyl and 'telecommunicate' with one of the Soviet astronauts.

Directed by Peter Bogdanovich!
It's better than his AT LONG LAST LOVE and ILLEGALLY YOURS.

The Hills Have Eyes (2006).  It was OK: well done for a remake, but a little too "as expected".

eta: and later in the day...The Brain That Wouldn't Die.  Unbelievable.  Some great lines.  I looked up Andrew's review partway through and that added to the fun.

Saw Crank 2 yesterday.  I would say it almost a live action adult looney toon.  That's the best description for the movie.

HERCULES AND THE CAPTIVE WOMEN

Hercules Saves Some Girl From A Monster And Then Has To Save Her From Her Mother The Evil Queen And Her Army Of Supermen

I Know It Sounds Really Cool But It Really Wasn't

I Also Watched TINKERBELL AND THE LOST TREASURE

Tinkerbell Accidently Breaks The Moonstone That Gives The Fairies Their Magic During The Harvest Moon , And She Has To Find The Magic Mirror That Will Grant One Wish She Has To Find It In Two Days Or The Fairies Will Lose Their Magic Forever

Even Though It Sounds Like A Crappy Kid's Movie It Was Actually Really Really Cool And I Highly Recommend It To Fans Of Kid's Movies

Witchhouse 3: Demon Fire (2001)

Utterly bad without redeeming cheese. Almost hard to believe that Charles Band and J.R. Bookwalter did this.  :bluesad:

flesh freaks.              terrible handycam movie. sort of bad zombie movie crossed with animal shots. i dont think the director could decide on bad zombie movie or national geographic nature show

Thanks for reminding me of this one, it is in that awesome book about weird world cinema Mondo Macabro. I had to look up the trailer for Killing Of Satan, and it looks like a hoot!

Evil Aliens- It was alright, I`m actually not sure whether I liked it or not. I rolled my eyes as much as I laughed but it was entertaining.

Watched a really awful one last week called LATE FEE.  It was a low budget piece of shlock about a video store that will rent you truly horrifying movies, never distributed from Hollywood.  But you have to return them by midnight, or face their "very strict" late fees.

And the company managed to plug two of their other crappy movies in this one!

Skinwalker: Curse of the Shaman (2005)

Basically a Blair Witch rip off with a Native American curse twist. Still kind of entertaining with a few laugh out loud bad moments.

I'll have the review up some time next year.   Very boring film with little to offer.

Re-watched yesterday: Red Sands (2009)

Disappointing modern day war horror with bad CGI effects (save for one creature) and cliche war crime plot (should we gang bang the female hostage?).
Alex Turner did so much better with his first movie Dead Birds (2004) which is still highly recommended.

Zombie 3 (1988)

Entertaining Euro-Trash surprisingly lacking excessive cheese. There are a few bad moments but not as many as one would expect.
