Title: Movies To Look Forward To
Post by: Pete B6K on February 02, 2003, 01:25:21 PM
'Bubba Ho-Tep' - The new Bruce Campbell film, still looking for distribution it seems. No news since like October last year.

'Battle Royale 2' - Should be great.  Coming out in Japan in the summer it seems.  No dates set for western releases.

'Adaptation' - Spike Jonze's first movie since 'Being John Malkovich', out here on the 28th of Feb.

'Solaris' - I remeber reading good stuff about this somewhere.  Coming out here same day as 'Adaptation'

'Cypher' - New film from the director of 'Cube'.  There's pretty much no info about it.

'Jersey Girl' - I'm not too sure about this.  Smith's first 3 films are among my favourites, but 'Dogma' and 'Jay and Silent Bob' were increasingly disappointing.  Maybe it's a downward slope, or maybe he'll regain the quality of the early films.

'Knowing' - Apparently the next film by director of the incredible 'Donnie Darko', Richard Kelly.  It's all the the whole rumoury type stage, with no announcements been made by Kelly.

'The Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions' - Need I say more?

Any others worth looking out for?

Pete

The remake of WILLARD looks interesting . . .

That looks pretty damn cool.

I remembered another one, 'May', a twist on the old Frankenstein story. No UK release set yet, US release is in March and will probably be pretty limited.

I'm looking forward to A Mighty Wind, Christopher Guest's upcoming mockumentary of the folk world. It'll have all the cast members from Waiting for Guffman and Best In Show, plus it'll reunite Guest with fellow Spinal Tap members Harry Shearer and Michael McKean as a band called the Folksmen. It comes out April 8th here in the States, but I dunno about England.
