Title: Redneck Technology
Post by: CheezeFlixz on June 02, 2008, 08:10:44 PM
I'd consider myself a redneck, a good ol southern boy. Now I'm not one to say "Hey ya'll watch this." ... well not anymore. But I'm a member of that group of guys that will find a way to fix it, make it work, or just see what will happen. Myself and the guys I'm around all have shops and all tinker in the shop and sometimes come up with some really clever stuff ... sometimes it's really stupid.
But while surfing around I can't help but see some redneck technology, and frankly some of it is really ingenious. So while a lot of people make it a sport of slamming and insulting rednecks, I can't help but see the hidden genius in many of these folks and I know a lot of them.
They have a problem and they find a solution and fix it, often in the most unconventional way and while some of the may not look like the sharpest tool in the shed, never judge a book by it's cover.

There is some hidden genius in them there hills, hollers, swamps, etc. ...

The GRILL POOL HEATER

The POOR MAN A/C UNIT
A guy takes copper tubing wrapped in a spiral around both sides of an electric fan. The tubing is connected (via cable ties) to an aquarium pump which circulates ice water held in a plastic storage bin beneath the fan. The fan then dispenses the cold into the room.

REDNECK SWAMP BIKE

Besides have you ever seen the STARS AND BARS look better?

EDIT ...

It's not a motor, it's a grill.

If you spend more money on the parts to build an ice-powered air conditioner than what it would cost to buy one at Walmart for $88...you might be a redneck. :teddyr:

If a woman has to put the confederate flag on her breasts to get your attention...you might be a redneck. :bouncegiggle:

It's not a motor, it's a grill.

If you think that is going to impress the ladies...you might be 15. :tongueout:

Please, more ammo...please :teddyr:

:bouncegiggle: I love the engine grill and the swamp bike: those are genius.

I just wonder if they could figure out a way to help me get eighty 2000 foot film cans to Bloemfontein in July?  :buggedout:
