Of course you have just about most of all the Friday the 13th's, you have Sleepaway Camps 1,2,  and 3, the Meatballs Movies, which, unfortunately I have yet to see and the Burning. I'm going with the Burning. I love that movie so much. Also Salute Your Shorts was a cool show. Any oher camp movies I'm forgeting?

Ha there was a great kid's movie featuring a very young Ben Stiller called Fat Camp I think. It was very fun, at least for a kid, plus Stiller plays an uncannilly mean camp instructor!

How about CARRY ON CAMPING? It is part of the series of British "Carry On" comedies from the 1960s and 1970s. Strangely enough, there is a collectors boxed set of these movies available, and CARRY ON CAMPING is not in the set! It includes CARRY ON CLEO, CARRY ON DOCTOR and a bunch of others . . . but the all time nudist-camp classic is missing from the set!

Evan you're thinking of the disney movie HEAVYWEIGHTS (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0110006) I think. Ben stiller trys to whip them all into shape and they're mad that he takes over the camp they once loved, or something to that effect.

Oh, there's "Ernest Goes to Camp" starring the late Jim Varney!

There's Camp Nowhere which was kind of lame. For older movies I seem to recall liking Gorp, although I really don't remember anything about it.

seeing as the thread's been bumped, I have to give a mention to...NUTS IN MAY (1976)

set on a camp site in Dorset. hilarious film IMO but probably not for everyone. some people don't 'get' the humour, which is fair enough

ooh, that's a toughie! You'd probably have to say one of the first seven F13th films (take your pick!) but they're the ones most people are familiar with and are all pretty damn interchangeable, not to mention predictable. I'd have to go for a tie between Sleepaway Camp and The Burning.

Spirit Camp - a slasher/comedy that came out a while back.  I really enjoyed it.  Sort of like Cheerleader Camp, but I liked the humor in this one much better.

Miner's Massacre - A slasher that's a personal favorite of mine.  It's not "at" a camp, just people camping in the woods.

Camp Utopia - If I remember correctly, this was watchable.  Can't even remember if it actually takes place at a camp;  I think it does.

Safety in Numbers - on a tropical island, but still sort of a "camp" I guess.  Enjoyable slasher.

Survival Island - a love triangle with people marooned on a tropical island.  The babe was hot - movie wasn't too bad either.

Pinata Survival Island (aka Demon Island) - killer Pinata chases people around a tropical island.  I enjoyed it  :teddyr:

Alien 3000 - people camping again, not actually at a "camp".  Terrible terrible movie.  I've watched it 3 times   :teddyr:

I LOVE this sentence - I've said it many a time and had to field a lot of confused looks... :bouncegiggle:

Not sure if these are the best movies with a camp setting but they are fun nonetheless.

Blood Reaper (2004) - Tents and cabins though both aren't in use very much as the victims rather walk/run through the great outdoors.
Memorial Valley Massacre (1988) - Pretty neat camp site with tents, RVs and trailers.
Satan's Blade (1984) - Log cabins and snow setting. Rare for slashers.
Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp (2003) - Just like Troll / Troll 2 you don't need to see the first one. It's all about the sequel. Cabins galore.
Prophecy (1979) - Log cabins and tipis.
Motor Home Massacre (2005) - RVs and tents.

if you're making a slasher set in a camp, a lot of scenes would have to be intense

:teddyr:

If you're looking for comedy, I'd recommend Troma's The First Turn-On. One of their early sex comedies, but I believe it's one of the better ones. It even has a young Vincent D'onofrio in a role as a psychotic camper. Pretty funny, but cheesy (in the best way).

As for horror, I think Sleepaway Camp is the definitive camp slasher. Even better than any Friday the 13th, IMO. Troma's Decampitated is an underrated one with a really kick-ass soundtrack.
