Title: R.I.P. Weekly World News Post by: Raffine on September 30, 2007, 12:47:55 PM (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/3c/Batchild.jpg)
The only newspaper that dared to tell the truth about aliens visiting the White House, bigfoot love babies, three-headed prostitutes, the world's fattest pets, Elvis' post-death fast food career, and, of course the adventures of 'Bat Boy' has ceased publication. It will continue as an online publication, but it's just not the same. :bluesad: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/offbeat/2007/07/weekly_world_news_goes_online.html (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/offbeat/2007/07/weekly_world_news_goes_online.html) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weekly_World_News (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weekly_World_News) Title: Re: R.I.P. Weekly World News Post by: Andrew on September 30, 2007, 02:14:23 PM Reading those was like drinking a lard milkshake. It might be satisfying, but you just knew they weren't good for you. Reading the covers was always something I liked to do, because they were hilariously funny. The one you posted is a good example.

I had my wall papered with WWN front pages . . . and a copy of Heironymus Bosch's The Garden of Earthly Delights. Students coming in were too distracted to complain about their grades . . . .
Title: Re: R.I.P. Weekly World News Post by: frank on October 15, 2007, 08:35:41 AM Thatīs shocking news... I went to school in Texas for half a year (being German) back in the early 90s. Of the tons of paper work (mostly school stuff) I only kept back some issues of the Weekly World News to this very day. They even once covered a story from Germany, some boy scouts ripping off their hands in a tug of war, which later turned out to be, basically, true. Now thatīs another internationally operating well informed in-deep investigatig piece of journalism going down - it will be missed! Title: Re: R.I.P. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! THATS NOT TRUE!" I am kind of devastated by this news. I have a huge book they put out with a collection of their stuff though. :bluesad: How will we win the war without Bat Boy?! It's the end of the world!!! :buggedout: Indeed! How are we supposed to keep track of who is shacking up with bigfoot each month? (http://www.joemonster.org/i/y/bigfoot.jpg) Title: Re: R.I.P. Weekly World News Post by: Jack on October 15, 2007, 01:05:28 PM I usually don't believe that stuff, but the one about bigfoot's baby...hmmm...if bigfoot was gonna do some lovin' with a human-type chick, I imagine that's what he'd go for.
