Title: B-Movie Oath/Pledge
Post by: Scott on February 19, 2006, 08:57:40 PM
With the Commander USA pledge I was thinking maybe there should be a B-movie creed by which we all should live by.

1) Promise to finish every movie from beginning to end.
2) To be an All Around Good Guy Forever. (http://clicksmilies.com/s0105/engel/angel-smiley-006.gif)
3) Attempt to view every film ever made.

As we come together on this day feel free to contirbute to the pledge according to the B-movie needs of the day. Thank You.

Oh God....  You mean I actually have to sit through Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood?  That is just not possible.....

Sounds pretty good to me.

And that's fine if I'm pleding it now since four years ago I couldn't finish "I Eat your Skin"

Hmmm, I thought I replied to this post earlier, but it seems perhaps my net is going a little screwy so I'll just repeat myself:

I'm not too sure what should go directly into the pledge just now, but I do know that the basic pledge should have us 'devote ourselves to the exploration of all forms of low-grade cinema' and if we fail to 'may we be brutally mutilated by drill-wielding maniacs, severly brutalized by flesh-eating zombies, and have our eyelids taped open whilst we are forced to watch reruns of 'The Nanny.'

Or something like that.

I love that movie!

"Yo...this is for all my dead homies"
(pours beer from a 40 oz on several dead corpses)

Hilarious!

I think that a badmovies.org pledge would be a fine idea.  Although, I don't know if I could pledge to watch every film from beginning to end.  I've yet to watch all of "The Being" and it mocks me day after day from my video shelf.

On a side note, I must agree with Ash that Don't Be A Menace to S.C. is a funny film.  One of the only funny things the Wayans ever did.

About point 1), may we use the fast forward button?

4) Mention of the 'G' movie and/or Ben and Jen should be avoided at all costs.

Of course, if the 'G' movie is accidentally mentioned, we will have to sacrifice Dean.

Maybe it's okay to fast forward AlexB but only for emergency situations, like the movie is causing you to have a heart attack ,or it's trying to absorb you into it's body A LA The Thing.

As much as I would like to be a part of this, I cannot take this oath in good conscience due to my inability to follow rule # 2. So sorry.

As long as #1 isn't retroactive.  There's no way in hell I'm going to finish watching Air America.
And #3 would require all of us to see Gigli.

Uh-oh...the 'G' movie was mentioned. Looks like we're going to have to sacrifice Dean.

Ooops.  Sorry.  Forgot that we weren't supposed to mention Gigli.

What? (Gigli) We need to (Gigli) sacrafice (Gigli) Dean if someone (Gigli) says what G word (Gigli)?

Why is everybody so unkind?

Besides, I gladly give up my body and soul to the creative powerhouse that is Gigli.  Every life given makes it all the stronger.  It's kind of like the candyman: say the word too many times and you will be forced to watch it.  It's just a matter of time before you guys come up with the magic number, get abducted by the guys with black ski masks on, who tie you to a chair and Clockwork Orange your arses into submission.

No fast forwarding. That would be dishonest.

Some B-Movie Wisdom:

1) Just because it's put on film doesn't make it a movie.
2) One must also view the A list films in order to recognize a B-movie properly. You can't have B without the A.

And you can't get any good A without a good pick-up line. (http://www.smileys.ws/smls/grinning/00000021.gif)
