Title: KEKKO KAMEN: SURPRISE!
Post by: The Burgomaster on March 29, 2006, 10:18:30 PM
I just bought this subtitled, Japanese superhero fantasy and you must see it to believe it.

Kekko Kamen is a female superhero who flies around naked except for a red mask, cape, boots, and gloves.  And her vagina glows!

The story involves students at an all-girl music academy being tortured by the instructors and then being sold to wealthy men to be their sex slaves!

Kekko Kamen streaks into action, armed with her nunchakus, to save the day!

In one scene, the girls are taught how to make music by farting (I'm not kidding).  One of the teachers gets on his hands and knees on a table in the cafeteria and farts BEETHOVEN'S FIFTH.  This scene goes on MUCH longer than it should.

In a flashback, we see a shipwrecked woman eating a man's severed hand.

And the incredible theme song has lyrics something like this:  "Kekko Kamen . . . no one knows her face . . . but everyone recognizes her private parts."  Those aren't the exact words, but I'm sure you get the idea.

This DVD is 70 minutes of ridiculous fun that should not be missed!

Wow, this sounds like an EXCELLENT film, I really MUST check this out...so much better than that lesbian subtext film Foxfire with a similiar plot.  A glowing vagina...the light at the end of the tunnel!  So many monuments, missles, bombs and much more dedicateed to the all mighty penis...but a glowing vagina...ahead of it's time I tell ya.

And the farting Beethoven symphony, he would be so proud in his arrogant and unusual sense of humor!

I take it you're referring to the live action version. You can watch the trailer at the homepage www.kekkou.jp. It is mostly in Japanese, but the trailer is miraculously indicated in English

Finding such gems is the result of hours and hours of painstaking reading, internet searches, and visits to the local shopping malls.  In other words, I'M WASTING MY LIFE!

For some reason the live action version is transliterated as Kekko Kamen, while the manga and anime are given as Kekkou Kamen.

For all it's stupidity, "Keko Kamen" is still better than "Batman & Robin"...

Alex:

Actually, what I believge was the "original" live-action movie (which I don't think is available in the U.S.) was called Keiko Mask.  So, we now have Kekko, Kekkou, and Keiko.  Sort of like when the tried to trick everyone into believing that Bruce Lee and Bruce Li were the same person in order to sell more martial arts videos.

I have a feeling Kamen might be Japanese for mask. Can anyone confirm this?

Alex -

I think you are correct.  There is another character in the movie named "Silky Fowl Kamen" (I'm not kidding) who wears what appears to be a bird mask.  So, in both cases, Kamen does appear to translate as "mask."

I read about this at Teleport city years ago.
My mind still locks up in protest at accepting the premise....its laughing as it does so, but still...

Glowing p***y?  What, ya can't find it in the dark?  That would explain the low Japanese birthrate.

Thanks Burgo, I'm going to have to look for this.

By the way, I forgot to mention the scene in the cafeteria where the girls are given penis-shaped hot dogs for lunch.  This is one screwed up movie.

I was searching through my DVD collection the other night for something to watch and I stumbled across this movie, which I forgot I had.  I thought I had posted comments about it in this forum . . . and here they are.  After reading what I wrote, I think it's time to watch this movie again.

I had this movie on the netflix queue but it seemed to drop into the unavailability slot  :bluesad:

hehe... I think my wife might enjoy the farting Beethoven song but I'm not sure if she'll want to see the penis-shaped hot dogs...

Thanks for bringing up the old review :)

I've seen both the anime and the live action.  The anime is much better.  It's got funnier characters, and the live action movie seems like they tried to make it weird for werid sake.  Not that there's something wrong with that.  But I just found the anime better.

"Splendid" actually.  So her name translates to Splendid Mask (or Mask of the Splendid if you prefer.)
