Title: Best Women in Prison film? Post by: retroman dc on September 09, 2007, 02:28:33 PM Ok sad as it is I haven't seen any of the cult favs women in prison films. What are your top 5? I was thinking of starting with Caged Heat? any opinions?

The dialogue, acting, direction, and camera work are all top-notch. A black & white classic.
However, my all-time favorite is I WANT TO LIVE! starring Susan Hayward. It's based on a true murder case and has an excruciatingly suspenseful sequence with Hayward in her holding cell waiting to go to the gas chamber and hoping that the governor will call and commute her sentence. Tortured Angels and Womans Camp 119 I was suprised to see Bruno Mattei in the credits for Womens Camp 119. I had only seen Rats and Hell of the Living Dead before this.
