Just have to wait for it to arrive. Maybe by the time it gets here, I'll have lost enough weight to make concealing a pistol on my person feasible.
Note to self: Don't mess with akiratubo; he be packin'.
CCW?
Here's the target I used to qualify. 12 rounds at 1 yard, 12 rounds at 7 yards, 12 rounds at 15 yards, and 12 rounds draw and rapid fire at 1 yard.
One miss (the arm).

Concealed handgun permit
O joy. Just glad I live in the UK.
I wish I did.
Back to the OT, congrats akiratubo on the permit  other than being able to shoot do you have to go through any kind of psychological testing? not saying you need it :bouncegiggle: just wondering how complicated the process is.

Take an eight hour class, pass a written test, shoot to qualify, apply for the license, then wait for them to send it to you whenever they feel like it.

Thanks for the info. I thought it would be more complicated than that.
You do realize, though, that if that target represented a zombie, you'd be dead now, right?
"Shoot 'em in the head, or we'll be dead!"

Me too, man.
Although the streets near me are littered with used condoms and syringes... :bluesad:
It makes me sad.

Yeah it sucks in some rough areas. I grew up next to the rough areas. Still I am at uni now far away from them (well just in a different one now but I am all chilled out in my student digs).
At least we have decreasing gun and knife crime, not that our media every puts that across. Most people think its increasing due to the news coverage but thats the power of the mass media... gosh I am looking forward to studying that unit in my degree "Politics and the media". Might end up using the media as a direction for my dissertation, with either the anti globalization as the focus or the western attacks at democracy in south American countries. Who knows, I may focus on the middle east. So many choices and I have to pretty much come up with the title of it by the end of semester 1 which gives me about 6 months.
On the bright side at least they are being safe by using condoms.

I wish it were, actually. There was at least one person in the class who had never fired a handgun before, yet he was able to qualify for a permit. At lest two others didn't even own a handgun.
Applicants ought to at least have to 1) own a handgun prior to applying for the permit and 2) pass a basic handgun proficiency and safety test - which the shooting we did to qualify was assuredly not.
I'm all for concealed carry but someone who doesn't own or hasn't even shot a handgun doesn't need to be getting a CC permit. You need to train with a weapon
before you are licensed to carry one. I've been shooting for a year now and I'm still not sure I'm ready to actually carry in public.
