Title: Diplomacy in action.
Post by: ER on August 19, 2019, 10:03:59 AM
Today I told the departing interns I disliked all of them except one, whom I'd miss very much. I thought it was nice to leave them all wondering if they were the one.

It's my innate sense of tact coming through.

Sigh, the one good intern departed this morning, and I'll miss her. On the plus side, I can now gripe at those remaining until tomorrow without caring if I sound evil.

I think I'll put this on all the others' recommendation letters: "Though ______ started off disappointing, by the time she left us she had risen to unsatisfactory...."

Personally I think the whole intern system needs to be killed with fire. Work without pay?  Yeah,  no. Icm sure corporate america likes it,  itcs time the rest of america killed it.

Well we give them free pizza and learning experience on matters like how to dress for a corporate setting, and get ahead by praising their boss' daughter. I also fixed one up in 2015 with the basketball player she'd puddled over had her eye on.

Aw, no, mate, I always take it as a compliment to be compared to a vagina. Vaginas are tough. Vaginas can take a hammering and keep going. Vaginas are much prized and sought after. I could say more in praise of the resilience of vaginas but it might be dinnertime where you are.

You've never heard anyone referred to as a "twat" or a "dick"?  I was using an epithet, not speaking of anatomy.  Though I know you're right.  I've always thought women were stronger than men.
I was thinking you should fill in those recommendation letters exactly as you describe, emphasizing the BLANK.   :bouncegiggle:

I kid around on here about the interns but I think they've nearly all been absolutely great and I've always gushed their praises on their evaluations and recommendation letters. Truth is I spoil them rotten and often hate to see them go.

Well, yeah, but I'm half-Irish, so c**t is a more usual epithet when trending in the direction of calling someone that sort of name. It's way less toxic a word in Ireland. But I don't really use it. I cuss more on here than in my day to day life.

Well, we're both in America and the "c" word here is much worse.  If you were offended at my attempt at humor, I apologize.  BTW I use words here I'd not use in speech just like you.

Thanks, John, nice of you to say, but seriously, I wasn't offended at all. We're good.
