Lately I been going through my old VHS collection and watching films I hadn't seen in a while, this being another one. in 1995 I was briefly obsessed with this movie, and even now it holds a certain spell over me. I think it's a minor masterpiece of quiet psychological intricacy and find almost everything about it fascinating.
I adore this movie. It's so moody and quietly atmospheric, and Irene Jacob is stunning beautiful in it. I think I first saw it in the mid 90s when it came on TV, it was mesmerizing. This lead me to watch more of Kieslowski's work, like the Three Colours movies. Your post reminds me that I need to get the Criterion edition of this film. Thanks!
