He definitely had anger issues. I actually heard Knight speak, also with my dad, and to be honest Knight seemed like he had mentally slipped with age by that point. He did say something that stuck with me when he said a former Indiana player who hated him later came back and told him: "There are few men I have ever disliked more than you, but I have to admit under any other coach I never would have been motivated to become the player I did." I do think Knight was a boor and basketball ain't my thing, but throwing a chair? For everyone who saw that who felt genuine revulsion at his poor sportsmanship, I bet there were ten who loved the excitement. I knew plenty of Texans who were glad to get him at Texas Tech.
