Title: MST3K Turkey Day Marathon 2023
Post by: Sitting Duck on November 22, 2023, 08:57:06 AM
Tomorrow's Mystery Science Theater 3000 Turkey Day Marathon is going to be a massive extravaganza starting at 0900 EST and will continue for forty-eight hours. Should you choose to watch the entire thing, you'll probably feel like Pheidippides at the end of the original marathon by the time Saturday morning rolls around. And don't forget to toss some money in the hat.

Thanks for the heads up, but I'll pass.

I'll watch bits and pieces as always, but the Season 14 fundraiser is being run so half-heartedly that it seems like it's designed to fail. It's depressing. I'm still hoping they'll hit the 6 episode mark. Joel needs to step back and hand over the reins to the new blood.

Part of it is the unfortunate timing of the Tinseltown strikes. Another is the switch to a different crowdfunding platform which doesn't appear to have the same publicity oomph as Kickstarter.

And Ivan, the guy who ran the last three successful Kickstarters, does not appear to be involved with this one. I hope they can raise $2 mil by tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Really didn't have a chance to watch it.  I was out of town at the time.
