Title: OT: Gettin' Old
Post by: Ash on April 19, 2006, 11:46:28 AM
Damn!
I turned 32 today!

I was born April 19th 1974.
Do I feel age creeping up on me?
Yes & no.
I do not feel 32 and I most definitely don't look it.
Most people think I look like I'm 25.

(http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/1330/scan9kv.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

This license pic was taken in January of 2003.
I look pretty much the same but have grown more manly and attractive since then....
LOL!

People who I.D. me for cigars or beer often say that I "look like my dog just died" in that pic.
(I do, don't I?)

My 31st year of life has come and gone...
Do I feel bad?
No way!

I get better with age!

Hell, I remember posting to this board when I was 26!

Happy Birthday. I'm 39 with 1 foot in the grave.

Are you sure that posting your license is a good idea?

I was about to pull him over anyway Odinn7. He was quick to bring out his I.D. and was co-operative. So I let him go because I'm in the middle of a bowl of chilli and cornbread.

Sure...why not?
My Social Security number isn't visible.

Anybody who sees that pic won't know where I live because my license has an old address.
Even if someone had the audacity to try and steal my identity, they would not succeed.

I'll be ready for 'em!

I'm starting to see the resemblance between placenta eating Bat Boy and ASHTHECAT. Before and after shots.

AHHHH!!

Totally hilarious Scott!
You made my day with that comparison!

It was my shaved head wasn't it?

Ash, at least you still get carded sometimes.  It sucks when you stop getting carded.

Get it ASHTHECAT ? Bat Boy has fangs. Raj just made a good one.

Oh, of course the images are of ASHTHECAT at an earlier age and the second is a more recent shot.

"It sucks when you stop getting carded" that's a funny one Raj.

I remember when I was 22 and fresh out of the Navy, I used to get p**sed when someone would card me, then when I got to be 30 I wished someone would once in a while.

Don't feel bad Ash , the day  you were born I was 19 and had been in the service for 6 months.

Ash, you'd be surprised at what they can do with a name, a DOB and an address - even an old one (getting your new one would EASY).  They don't need your SSN.

Why invite trouble?

Ash...I was just looking out for ya. I have seen some things on the scam-baiting site that show you how much information is available just from a name.

I just turned 42 last week.  The scary thing is that I have basically the same haircut as ASH.

I have lots of hair, but it's getting grayer by the day.

Hey Scott...please edit your post so that it shows this pic instead:

Ok, I switched it ASHTHECAT.

By the way it was the ears that helped me make the comparison. (http://clicksmilies.com/s0105/lachen/laughing-smiley-004.gif)

Don't worry Ash, we've already signed you up to work at an "escort" agency.

Happy birthday Ash.  I too have a birthday soon, but I'll be turning the inverse of your age.

Ulthar,

Ha ha ha.  Funny.

I meant I'll be turning the opposite....well if you switched the order of the numbers anyway.

It's funny how we get a year older every year.

The Future is Right in Front of Us.

Or something like that, it was in a calender that marked each day with a stupid quote.

I feel old, I've been coming since I was 14 or 15! And I'll be 19 in july!

Oh Dave...you poor old bastard...

Heh heh heh heh.

I guess I should say I feel old, I feel older rather. I mean I think we all have a similar feeling to when we look back several years ago and think about that time.

I started coming here when I was 14 and thought life was hard then...

well I've grown up a bit and that life then was a piece of cake.

It's nice sunny summer like days that make me think about the past for some reason.

I think dave has reached his mid-life crisis a few decades early!  And here I feel like a young chap who's just starting to feel that little bit older due to a few current 'shake ups' [such as starting full time work for the first time ever on Monday! God help me!]

Oh and Happy Birthday Ash!

It's time to consult The Amazing Criswell for Ash, Dave, and Odinn7.

Criswell: Greetings, my friend. We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future. You are interested in the unknown... the mysterious. The unexplainable. That is why you are here. And now, for the first time, we are bringing to you, the full story of what happened on that fateful day. We are bringing you all the evidence, based only on the secret testimony, of the miserable souls, who survived this terrifying ordeal. The incidents, the places. My friend, we cannot keep this a secret any longer. Let us punish the guilty. Let us reward the innocent. My friend, can your heart stand the shocking facts of grave robbers from outer space?

Criswell: [narrating] ... All of us on this earth know that there is a time to live, and that there is a time to die. Yet death is always a shock to those left behind. It is even more of a shock when Death, the Proud Brother, comes suddenly without warning. Just at sundown, a small group gathered in silent prayer, around the newly-opened grave of the beloved wife of an elderly man. Sundown of the day; yet also the sundown of the old man's heart, for the shadows of grief clouded his very reason... The funeral over, the saddened group left the graveside. It was when the gravediggers started their task that strange things began to take place.

Children!!  All of you!!
Yeah, I thought the Batboy thing is a hoot too --
I actually got carded FOR REAL once when I was 43 -- I asked the bouncer to call my wife & tell her what he did.  He wouldn't . . .

PS:  For the math challenged, I just turned 50 --

BTW, Happy Birthday, Ash.  You share a birthday with my wife's sister, if you care about that sort of thing.

I've met two people with the same birthday as mine.  One of them was even the same year. We never figured out who was older by how many hours, though.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes guys!

This turned out to be one hilarious thread.

Several celebrities had their birthdays yesterday along with mine:

Hayden Christiansen (Anakin Skywalker)

Ashley Judd

Kate Hudson

James Franco (Harry Osbourne from Spiderman)

All in all it was a good birthday!

Suddenly I feel like I'm at a retirement home visitng my great grandparents! I turned 28 two months ago, and I don't plan on complaining about my age for at least another decade :)
