Title: Alejandro Jodorowski news Post by: LilCerberus on May 17, 2006, 02:25:50 AM http://www.abkcofilms.com/
The news is in a really big flash file that took me about an hour to download on dial-up. Jodorowski fans should be very excited. Title: Re: Alejandro Jodorowski news Post by: Scottie on May 17, 2006, 03:27:33 AM Wow. I gotta check that out. I once had a friend tell me his movies were a bunch of pretentious art s**t. That bastard held me back from these kinds of films?? If the stores were open at 4 in the morning, I'd go rent everything they had. Anything that's being remastered these days is a godsend. It seems like it takes some nut who loves the films or a grant to restore old films. Too bad I don't have the time. I think film restoration where you spend forty eight days locked in a room with a computer and digital noise reduction software and a can of pork and beans would be a dream job. Anyways, thanks for posting.
Title: Re: Alejandro Jodorowski news Post by: Scott on May 17, 2006, 07:09:15 AM This is the biggest film news ever. EL TOPO, HOLY MOUNTAIN, and the third of which I haven't heard of FANDO Y LIS.
(http://horror.mdv.se/1970%20-%20El%20Topo%20(B)(VHS).jpg) And digitally remastered. Title: Re: Alejandro Jodorowski news Post by: LH-C on May 17, 2006, 10:57:54 AM I thought some of these movies were already out on R2?

Yeah, they can be found http://www.xploitedcinema.com/dvds/director.asp?director=Alejandro+Jodorowsky Because of the legal dispute between Allen Klien & Alejandro Jodorowski that's lasted over thirty years, El Topo & Holy Mountain have been primarilly available in the form of faulty bootlegs made from worn out looking prints. This is big news because Klien & Jodorowski finally reached a settlement a few months ago, meaning this will be the first "official" DVD release. I don't know what region this new set will be, but it's reason to be enthusiastic. Title: Re: Alejandro Jodorowski news Post by: LilCerberus on May 18, 2006, 12:35:33 AM Scottie Wrote:

Actually, they are "a bunch of pretentious art s**t", but Jodorowski does all this with blood, gore, guns, T&A, pretty much all the elements of a good bmovie short of a guy in a bug suit. A good place to figure it out for yourself would be to read the El Topo companion book over at http://www.subcin.com/bookfilm00.html , Though I must warn you, it does contain spoilers. Title: Re: Alejandro Jodorowski news Post by: Alan Smithee on May 18, 2006, 02:38:56 PM Kick ass! I'm a huge fan of Jodorowsky. Can't wait to have these on dvd. What ever happened to Santa Sangre? Are they going to put this on dvd?????
Title: Re: Alejandro Jodorowski news Post by: Scott on May 18, 2006, 02:45:31 PM Yea, they should definately put SANTE SANGRE in there.

Title: Re: Alejandro Jodorowski news Post by: Alan Smithee on May 20, 2006, 08:03:24 PM What's Fury Road? That's a new one to me. The only other movie I know that he has plans on doing is Tryptych.

Fury Road was supposed to be the fourth Mad Max movie, & has been in the planning stage for about as long as Los Hijos del Topo. |
