Title: Saddam forced to watch South Park!
Post by: Inyarear on August 28, 2006, 07:33:14 PM
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/28082006/344/saddam-s-cartoon-capers.html

Now if this story is true, I think it's a very good idea, but I think the Marines should vary Saddam's viewing material while he awaits his conviction and execution. Gigli and Ishtar would be good selections for this purpose, I think, as would Daddy's Deadly Darling (or Pigs) and anything else that has a skull rating here at badmovies.org.

Anybody else got some good ideas for Saddam? I should remind everyone that a lot of the "art" we found in Saddam's palaces was rather obscene and tasteless, so mere obscenity and tastelessness aren't likely to make much of a dent in his psyche. What really, really bad stuff can we inflict on this guy to prepare him for what he'll be seeing in the hereafter?

"Sound Of Music" not because it's bad but because it would really blow his mind

Can't Stop the Music, Xanadu, Roller Boogie, pretty much any 70s/80s movie built around a cultural fad or any wrongheaded attempt to modernize the musical. So all those rap musical/strung together musical performance movies I mentioned in the New Jack City thread like the Breakin' films, Krush Groove, or even crap like Lambada: The Forbidden Dance might work.

He'd probably like Hershall Gordon Lewis flicks, nitpick the death and torture scenes with an expert's perspective. How about the early works of John Waters pre-"repectability"? Can't see Saddam being a Devine and Edith Massey fan.

Or we could just play Howard the Duck (with the duck boobies scene just for the WTF effect) and the video for the Super Bowl Shuffle by the Chicago Bears on an alternating loop. Maybe the ultra-depressing Robert Blake wannabe race car driver character study "Corky"? That damn movie put me in deep depressed funk for a week afterwards.

If I thought he was the good Muslim he claimed to be when it served his purposes I'd suggest that biopic about the life of Mohammed starring Anthony Quinn from the late 70s. Instead I'd offer up the Left Behind films (and maybe the books on audiotape, if translations were available), those TBN produced end-times films: the Omega Code and Megeddo, and anything else in this line I could find - the cheaper and preachier they were they better. Show him what the real diehard fundamentalists and Bush supporters get all worked up in a frenzy over hoping it will come to pass. Maybe a little "Battlefield: Earth" for good measure.

Saddam wrote some overheated potboiler romantic epics himself, so he's a maker of crap entertainment (but I'll bet he doesn't think so) in addition to all his brutality, murder, corruption, and dictatorial activities.

This is torture? Make him watch 48 hours of Roger Corman and/or Adam Sandler films, then maybe I'll consider that punishment.

Gigli has been specifically banned as torture by the Geneva Convention.

48 hours of Roger Corman would be kinda nice, for me.  But then, I am a sick, twisted puppy.

Maybe force him to watch nothing but Lifetime Channel movies.

This is like a list of all films I've either enjoyed watching or would like to...

Does that mean I'm a glutton for punishment?

I think it could best be described some of those times when we can say to ourselves, "Even 'I' think this is stupid".

Make him watch Nancy Grace and Rita Cosby. Throw in that dimwit Tucker Carlson and ADHD posterboy Chris Matthews for good measure. Or a marathon of the idiots on "Fox & Friends".

Hey!
I like American Idol!

My advice would be for him to sit shackled and forced to watch Manos: The Hands of Fate over & over & over & over & over again in a darkened room.
No bathroom breaks...no nothing...
I'd make sure to feed him lots of bulky food and give him many liters of water to drink.

Let him sit in his own s**t & p**s for days while enduring Manos for 7 days straight.

And if he tried to sleep, have the guards come in and give him a beating.

All of you are taking the wrong approach. *First* he must watch good movies o quality TV shows, just to give him a perpective on what's to come. *Then* blast the entire JAG series into his TV 24/7. It will make his head explode.

Neville, i'm suprised you frogot to mention "Walker Texas ranger"...in fact, most of the Chucksters film file could make the creep pay through the nose!
Hummmm...".The Nasty Rabbit!" nothin make for torture like a bad comedy...even if its in other  then your native language...

"JAG" is from Fox? This explains lots of things in the series, like the ghost that saluted to the flag (no kidding) in some episode. And yes, "Walker Texas Ranger" should be added to the menu. I'm not so sure about the films, because his early efforts are campy fun. But "Hellbender" is a serious candidate.

Any current CGI movies (with all nickelodeon originals definitely included)

For others, make him watch anything involved with David Michael Latt or "Asylum". http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0490375/ (I don't know how to make links on this site)

If we're gonna throw TV into the mix, I say we hit 'im hard with "The View" and/or "Oprah."  I bet a dude like him would just LOVE to watch a bunch of women yaking and man-bashing.  I think his eyes would start to bleed (I know MINE about do if I have to watch 1 minute of this tripe).

I second "The View".
That is hands down one of the worst shows I've ever seen and it's because of Barbara Walters.
I don't know how those other women can stand to be in the same room with her.

How's a bout all the Andy Milligan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Milligan) films over & over?

Send him to Hollywood & force him at gunpoint to star in a situation comedy about a single father working as a gofer for a rap group.

BagDaddy!

Ash, because she is a producer of, and owns a piece of the show. So they kinda work for her as well as ABC/Disney. Which gives me a Saddam torture idea. Show him reruns of Starr Jones' old TV show "Jones and Jury". No panel of annoying female TV personalities to get in the way of Starr's ego or mouth. Just Starr and a bunch of interchangeable jury and audience members forced to listen to Starr in full "I'm a lawyer" mode, and browbeating them when they didn't agree with her. It still gives me nightmares.

Neville, JAG originally aired on NBC, was cancelled, was picked up by CBS and aired there for the majority of its original run. It was produced by Belasarius Productions, Paramount Network Television Productions (part of CBS, which is part of Viacom), and NBC Productions (part of NBC, part of General Electric). So unless News Corp. owns Donald Bellisario's production company, it's not a Fox product. But it still sucks.

How about a marathon of "Blue Collar TV" episodes, and Larry the Cable Guy stand up routines?

How come no one has suggested Dr. Phil?  Hey, wait I just did, in fact they should let him come over and be on Dr. Phil. I think Phil might actually b***h slap the boy.

Nah, send Phil to Saddam's super duper top secret prison cell. Then forget to ever bring that loudmouth hypocrite back. Or use him as an IED bomb sniffer.

The chutzpah - fat man selling a diet book...................grumble, grumble.

Actually, does Saddam even RECOGNIZE good film from bad film? I mean, he lives in IRAQ! He Might think that DRACULA vs. FRANKENSTIEN (1970) was a timeless classic! He might ENJOY MANOS,the HANDS of FATE(I did)! He might consider Ray Dennis Steckler a man of vision!  He might think that The BEAST of YUCCA FLATS is a comment on the total disregerd for human life that our goverment has for our citizens! He might view The BRIDE of the MONSTER as ad for "America is a good place for me to pursue my plans for world domination". But , I think that all of us agree, the TV show "Apple's Way" back inna 70's, was torture.Or Tony Orlando and Dawn. Or the Captain and Tenille. How many times can you here Muskrat Love without killing yourself or somelse. JESUS CHIRST, SUPERSTAR!!!!

He does, believe me. Some silly newspaper mentioned his favourite movies when his palace was conquered and mentioned "Casino" and "Gladiator" among them.
