Title: Reader looking for a films - Old woman and blind girl tormented by gangs
Post by: Andrew on November 10, 2006, 09:41:57 PM
This was sent in by a reader.  Things sound familiar, but I cannot pinpoint a film for them.

I've been searching the internet methodiclly in order to find the names of a few low budget films I have vague memories of but have had no luck and was hoping you could help. Any help would be appreciated much.

The first is a late 60's early 70's horror film from the U.K. about a blind girl tormented by a physico('s) at a familys farm house.(This movie was filmed in color and is not 'Wait Until Dark'.)

The second is a late 60's early 70's B/W thriller about a handicapped elderly women in California, who is tormented by a band of young home invaders (the womam at on point is trapped in her elevator and the  main punk in the film has his eyes gowged out and this head run over in the end of the movie.)

The third is a very low budget film from the 70's about a blond 5 year old boy who witnesses his fathers murder and now as an adult is out to hunt his fathers killers down.

The next is a U.S. made low budget horror flick of the 70's about a diseased lab rat found by some teenagers.

And last is a late 70's early 80's u.k. movie or serial about mystery solving children.

I know my info isn't very helpful but if any of these sound familiar please let me know, as I would be most grateful.

Thank You,

B.K. Bear

The second one sounds like the Olivia deHavilland/James Caan suspense film Lady in a Cage from 1964. Apparently quite good and very lurid and considered ahead of its time.

Wish I could be more help with the others.

Yaddo is correct about the second one being Lady In A Cage.  Fantastic film.

I believe that the lab rat movie is The Missing Are Deadly (1975)  (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0071848/)

I wish the one about the mystery solving children had more information.  What was the setting?  What sorts of mysteries did they solve?  If it was the UK and partially set around a railroad, then "The Railroad Children" might be a match in some ways.  Of course, what comes to mind is the "Hardy Boys" television series.

The first film is probably the British "Blind Terror" or "See No Evil" w/ Mia Farrow, as the blind girl tormented by the psycho. From 1971.

the one about the mystery solving children could very well be the famous five tv series, based on a series of books by...um...the authers name escapes me. although the comic strip team did an hilarious spoof of this in the eighties called five go mad in dorset which is more deserving of a viewing
