Title: Carnosaur
Post by: lastbreath@hotmail.com on May 02, 1999, 02:07:56 AM
A true classic. A hero amungst the mighty pantheon of DTV greats! "Carnosaur" will forever live on as one of my all time favorite movies. Right up there with "Return of the Living Dead 3," "Pumpkinhead 2," and "Warlock: The Armmegedon." As much praise as was lavished upon "Jurassic Park" "Carnosaur" stands up to repeated viewings and Taco Bell far better. And as an extra added bouns "Carnosaur" had REAL special effects. And they somehow managed to throw in a impressive and depressing as ass ending. All hail the demonization of fossilizied life forms... all hail "CARNOSAUR!"

The Carnosaur series is the Best three bad movies of all time.  (not counting The evil dead or The night of the living dead series as they are not true cheap and bad movies).

I love the mad scientist (I happen to be one myself; 12 years of college can make anyone insane), and the none happy ending.   7.5 out of 10   (4 green globs)  One point behind carnosaur 2 because those chickens at the begining freaked me out.

I loved this movie.  And the two sequels.  Eat that, Jurassic Park.  And I highly recommend you guys check out the book by Harry Adam Knight.  It has absolutely nothing to do with the movie other than the name, but it came first and as did the movie version, the book also kicks Jurassic Park's ass.  You'll never find it in B Dalton, though.  You'll either have to order it, or as I did, just stumble across a copy in a discount book warehouse.

What a great movie!  Great acting, Great story, and fun FX.  The only movie I have seen that beats this epic dinosaur tour de fource is its sequel, Carnosaur 2.  Part 3 is also pretty good, but it can't compete with the first two films which are easily the two best movies, never mind dinosaur movies, ever made!!!!!  Long live Carnosaur!!!!!!

Dear God!  I remember seeing this flick on cable.  The sheer
illogic of the virus and how the dinos are created would make a Vulcan scream and rant.

Otherwise decent cheesy movie, but the illogic about that virus...

Hi-
As a true fan of the lovely Jennifer Runyon, it saddens me
that she was reduced from her greatness as
"Peter Venkman's Psychic Test Hottie" in the wonderful GHOSTBUSTERS (1984) to acting in the "suary" (heh heh) Piece of Krap known as CARNOSAUR (1993).

Sadly, this was her last (that I know of) film role.  Anyone who knows where she is now, please drop me a line!  Won't rest until I find her!

thanks,
Chris Nott

This movie was out of control.  The dinosaurs were hilarious!  I think my nephew plays with the same kind that that used in the movie.  And when the dinosaur comes up to the hippie and he says "Peace green brother" and then the dinosaur eats him, that's classic.

I saw this one when i was 6, so i don't remember much. Everytime i see that Raptor eating that womans foot it weirds me out. I have seen the 2nd and 3rd Carnosaur films lately. I thought they were good B-list movies. The Tyrannosaurs are good in all the movies, even though their stance is wrong, but they are under used. If anyone would like to talk to me about any of these movies, feel free to email me.

- Mario.

The only thing I can ever remember about this movie was that there was a preview of the first unreleased Fantastic Four movie on the VHS version.

If anyone is interested in seeing THE WORST movie ever this has to be it.  No words can TRULY define the craptastic movie which is Carnosaur.  What makes it even worse is that it was made the same year as Jurassic Park, but the FX are about as good as a 1930's movie.  I mean, straight PUPPETS killing people, women giving birth to dinosaurs, remote controlled Tyco trucks vs the remote controlled T-Rex, and the list goes on.

This is the #1 worst movie I have ever seen, followed by Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, but Carnosaur beats those movies BY FAR on how horrible it is.

I thought the movie would be good, but it sucked.  It had horrible effects, and I DID see the hand pulling the girls leg.  Did any of you catch that?  Did any of you catch the "disappearing act of the blood on her face"?  I did.  Its so stupid.

This really is a piece of crap. It's funny, cheesy, but Diane Ladd is really freaky...anyways, this is a lame movie just the way I like them on a cheese fest night with my friends!

These dinos kick ass! Carnosaur goes down in my book as the creepest and most darkest dinosaur movie ever! Some people say the special effects suck but I don't care. That little green raptor alone kicks so much ass. It looked so awesome when it takes down those teenages in the jeep and those chained green-peace guys. But the big Rex looked a little too fake in some shots of the film. You can easily of told when it was a toy and when it was a life size model. This is definetly a cult classic. With plenty of laughs, gore, language, and just plain stupid fun! And I watch the trilogy(that I own on DVD) all the time.

I saw the movie RAPTOR, and for the love of god, they took some of the parts from THIS movie and from Carnosaur 3 into Raptor. Its a total rip off..I should not have rented it..*twitches right eye*...arrgh..gah.....

Althought itīs not a good movie at all, it really made me have a lot of fun! Itīs much better than any other dinosaur movie. In this movie, the special efects are not good, but the blood scenes and the horror that Roger Corman was able to make us feel are the main funny thing! Watch this and enjoy. Watch Carnosaur 2 too, witch is even better than this one!

I have seen carnosaurs 1,2 and 3 when i was like 9 years old. Then i rented them again when i was a little older and realized that they are cheesy. But I think the dinos in the carnosaur movies are scarier than those of jurassic park. even though they are rubber they were still scary. but what I can't figure out is why they didn't use the t-rex more in the movies. And the deaths of the t-rex's in 1 and 2 were the exact same pretty much. they even took parts from part 1 and put them into part 2 and that really ticked me off. I don't understand why they would do that when they have a big t-rex already and that they could just film it's feat and crap. When I saw the dates the movies were made 1993, 1994, etc. they were made right after each other which shows they didnt put much effort into making the sequels.

I have seen some stupid movie scenes in my life.  But this one takes the whole friggin cake.A woman gets her leg torn off by a raptor and then she stops screaming and watches as the thing uses it for a tooth pick. I can't say anymore.A very terrible  movie.

I love carnosaur and carnosaur 2, they are great and fantastic except part 3, it's crappy. they wanted the dinos alive "What were they thinking" trying to get themselves killed with them on the loose. What should've been better about this is that they should've broughten the kid Jesse from part 2 back so he could kill more dinos like he killed the big one near the end. I suggest it the third should be skipped and watch the other two instead. I can't wait to get them on dvd.

I must admit I thought that Carnosaur was an absolutely horrible movie. I saw it on HBO I think. Then the funny part came when I was offered an extra role in #3. It was worse. Needless to say I don't put Carnosaur 3 on my resume.

Ha ha ha, that movie clip brings back memories... Anyway, since I haven't seen this movie for about eight years, I can't really review it. But I still have fond memories of sitting down and watching this. I can remember the entire T-Rex scene at the end, abeit vaguely, and also watching Jurassic Park for the fiftieth time around the same time... Maybe it was this and Jurassic Park that inspired my Lego movie extravaganza Dinosaur Carnage.

Anyway, you want something entertaining to pass away a saturdary night? Look no further than Carnosaur.

By the way, lastbreath (No offence), Carnosaur 1 came out at the movies in 1993.

Carnosaur, and both it's sequels, suck. A lot. A whole lot.
If you can enjoy cheesy B-movies, yeah, you might like this. But if you seriously think this movie is better than Jurassic Park, I'm sorry... you have terribly taste in movies. And novels, it would seem...

As much as I love dinosaurs and movies where dinosaurs eat people, this was 83 precious minutes of my life that I mourn having wasted on this garbage. The dinosaurs and their attacks were more or less similar to something you'd see in a senior high school play-or even worse-, that virus made no freaking sense at all, the gore was stupid and too over-the-top, and the ending-Gosh, that ending was so, so pointless and depressing. I slogged through the movie all for that?
Speaking of which, although it is true that members of military units that deal with biological contaminants do carry assault weapons with them, these would only be used on civilians if they displayed hostile behavior towards the team members, most likely due to frustration at the unit's inability to directly help them.
This stupid ripoff of JP is something which I think deserves the bargain bins at best, landfills at worst.

Great cheesy movie with great puppetry.

John Carl Buechler (the guy responsible for the Ghoulies series, Troll, Friday the 13th part VII and so on) is the one who provided the dinosaur effects. I remember reading somewhere that he didn't like working on this movie (mainly because whenever he gave a suggestion for shooting the creatures, the director ignored him). Makes me wonder if the movie would've turned out better if John's suggestions were used. Oh well.
