Two slimes? Good sir, you are generous to a fault. I watched this turkey, and was most impressed by the character's quick 180 on things: "I won't let you destroy these bats"
10 minutes later
"We have to irradicate every last bat..."

Viva Bats!

Awful ripoff of THE BIRDS(1963). I saw this in the theater and I was just dissapointed. Hell why don't they just put fethers on the bats so they can look like birds and it would be worse than ever. Like with STAR WARS(1977) and any other big budget film it sucks big time. A definate time-waster. Don't watch, but beware of the awful concequences of this God awful film!

THE most awful movie I've ever seen.  Like Zeena, I found the fact that a movie, with at least 50 people working on it, presumably all with high school degrees, DON'T KNOW THAT METHANE IS EXPLOSIVE.  Oh yeah, I learned something new--body suits made by the military for very specific and rare contingencies are all one-size-fits-all, and can be donned in less time than the average Halloween costume.

I just have to talk about this film again. I mean this film is BAD. I don't mean the term "it's so bad it's good", I mean this film is really BAD! How bad do you ask! Worse than I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER. Besides mediocre special effects, bad acting, dumb plot, awful photography, wooden direction, and so on. And the fact that Lou Diamond Phillips is in this clunker of a film, his appearence makes it alot more worse. Worse than STIGMATA! This film is a typical example of how big budget films are so hyped up that they end up being flops. Stick to THE BIRDS(1963), but beware of BATS.

Batmania strikes once again. This time without bat poles, batmobiles, but with campy acting.

I'M BAAACK!!! I just finished seeing this movie, and all I kept thinking was WOW! This movie really rocks. The funniest piece in the movie, was the movie theatre billboard which read NOW PLAYING NOSFERATU. Now that was a funny cliche. The effects were great. That evil doctor, who created the little varmits was a nut, and got what he deserved. Don't fool with Mother Nature.

Bats is one of the worst movies to comeout of Hollywood in some time. I can't say I hated it but I was dissapointed. Not that much fun. I give it a 2.5/5.

This movie is not good enough to be on this list. It just stunk, not enough redeeming features to be a b-movie. A" bad bad movie". No,it isn't really painful, but still isn't worth a rental priceor the viewing time. Bats is almost as dull as Lou Diamond Phillips.

Things I learned: The US government will give the entire low-down on their most top secret imaging satellites to any hayseed with a badge and a bat problem.

From "Young Guns" and "Young Guns II" to THIS?!!!  My how Lou Diamond Phillips has fallen.  I guess this just goes to show that the poor guy can't do s**t if he doesn't have Emilio Estevez or Charlie Sheen's ass to ride in a flick.

O.K. so it`s a no-brainer, but the effects are pretty good, with the exception of some dubious matting in places. Dina Meyer looks stunning, Lou Diamond Phillips is without doubt a charisma vaccuum; however, in spite of it`s shortcomings it`s a fun movie, period.

This movie is great!  What did you expect from a B-Movie?  It definitely deserves a 10 on the Cheese-O-Meter!  I just bought this one and added it to my coveted Cheesy-Movie collection.

Well I own this movie too and I think that its a very BAD movie.

But the last scene was very exciting because I thinked before it that a last bat will be showed and it will fly to somewhere and there will be a seguel to this movie but the last bat gets ran over by a car!

Bad, bad, bad, oh $DEITY this was BAD.  Utterly moronic from beginning to (almost) end.  Nice to see that modern filmakers can still churn out something as bad as "The Giant Gila monster" while spending 1,000,000,000x as much money to do it.  The one, and I do mean ONE, scene in this movie that gets an intentional laugh is the final, final shot.  Sadly, this shot also tells you that the people making this film thought it was crap too, so they decided to literally squash any chance of a sequel.  Too bad they didn't put more thought into the rest of the film.

I think the movie was great it was a blast beyond the first Bats that was made.  I've enjoyed the films that Meyers, Phillips and, Leon have been in.  I know the film ended in a down key of the Bat being ran over, but you could make it that a bat did get away, and make a part two.  I know i'll go see it, bye.

The worst movie I had ever had the misfortune of paying to see in a movie theater. The only cliche I can think of that wasn't included in this movie is that of the black guy dying first.

By the way, didn't the goofy FBI guy and the main character chick resemble Mulder and Scully?

I know this movie isnt the best thing on earth, but Dina Meyer looked damn hot it that movie, i cannot beleive what a change of hairstyle can do for someone, i found here butt ugly in Starship Troopers.

I saw the movie at Walmart and for 6$ i add to buy it, got it on dvd also, i saw this movie at 30$+ in some dvd stores, can you imagine.

Its a bad movie but still its funny and far better then most of Lou Diamond Phillips movies, what the hell has happened to that guy.

I saw this a bunch of years ago, and I can remember just one scene (and that probably speaks for this film's quality) - the "Last Crusade" one, only with fire+guano+methane instead of fire+oil. Funny, though, that Crusade doesn't get trashed for that, equally stupid, scene... :o)

I worked as a manager/projectionist in a Utah theatre when this horrid pice of film trash was released.
So of course I had the following conversation at least 2 dozen times.
(The movie was shot primarily in Spanish Fork I believe)

Customer: I was an extra in this film
Me: I wouldn't go around admitting that if I were you.

Two things that bothered me that I don't see mentioned often.

#1 If memory serves there is a scene where a bat crawls into the exhaust pipe of a car and then out the air conditioning system in the dashboard.
Correct me if I'm wrong but if my car was built that way I'd die!

#2 Nosferatu is playing every hour on the hour in a one screen theatre...Nosferatu is an 81 minute film.
Even if they don't bother cleaning the theatre between screenings that's physically impossible.

One of those movies I hate. Boring story, boring characters, boring special-effects.

Given his recent work, either Lou Diamond Phillips is deliberately scraping the bottom of the barrel, or his agent deserves to be staked out in a bog someplace...

The reason this movie is so bad (and I don't mean in an enjoyably bad sense, I mean "I want 2 hours of my life back" bad) is because it TRIES to be good. And besides the countless number of groan-inducing cliches, did anyone else notice how it even ripped off the X-Files with the suit-waring government agent and lead Scully look-alike?

Overall this movie was even cornier than Tango and Cash, and that is a damn corny movie. Also why the f$&@ can  something crawl into the exhaust pipe and moments later in through the air vent? If that was my car i think that i would have to get that piece of SH7T checked out. Also since when do those fu)king bat burrow into the ground and pop up at the same time the trucks tire is there. CHEEE-ZEE.   We should build a time machine just to go back and stop the making of this god-awful movie.

Were you just kidding when you offered to allow us to buy the movie? That's like buying R.O.T.O.R. on DVD. It's loud, messy, and after you're done you're going to wish that the pain would stop.

Lou Diamond Philips really failed as an actor going from a string of really good films (La Bamba, Stand and Deliever, Young Guns, Young Guns II, Courage under Fire, The Big Hit ,Supernova) to becoming a staple of Sci-fi Channel movies and Badly made B-movies.

Um, you may want to rethink that there, Sheila.

lol, yeah, I'm blonde and even I don't get that schematic.....exhaust pipe connected to the air vent??  while we are in the time machine, we have to stop off on the set of Megalodon vs. Giant Octopus, I must speak to Lorenzo Lamas and Debbi (yes, I said DEBBI, not Debra!) Gibson.   :drink:
