Title: Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
Post by: ghidrah_23_2002 on November 25, 2006, 04:09:03 PM
Well the scens a good so is the music and the Monsters, my only complain is about the scen where Ghidorah is attacked by the planes it looks kinda fakesh.

Other wise, This is the best Godzilla Movie (beside King of the Monsters) ever made.

I agree with the other 'nonymous.  It boasts THE finest ending battle of any G-film, and it takes place in the daytime to boot!

A poem:

One day, some scientists go swimming at sea.
And imagine their shock when they look up and see
A monster of three heads, wings, and multiple tails
To which in size all comparison pales

And then one day
In a town in Japan
We are paid a friendly visit
From a future man.

Somehow Godzilla figures into this mix
And beats his opponent
King Ghidrah
Like a ton of red bricks.

Godzilla, however, must too be brought down
And so he is lured off to Tokyo downtown.
His mad fighting skills are no match for the army
Look out, kids- this dino ain't Barney!

A true homage to Godzilla films. The modernized Godzilla is incredible. Much better than that Hollywood version of the Big Guy, who wasn't even close to resembling the real thing. Ghidrah always makes a terrific evil monster, and is my second favorite Godzilla menace next to Mechagodzilla. A classic you say? Definately.

I don't know about this being one of the best OVERALL G-flicks, but I'd agree that the ending battle does kick all ass.  All the new ones have great ending battles, truth to tell.  The weakest one is probably the new Godzilla vs. Mothra.  Space Godzilla and Destroyer both rock as well.  Personally, I'm waiting anxiously to see Gigan in one of the new Toho films.  Gigan is without comparison the grooviest looking of all the G-villains, and I'd love to see a modern incarnation.

Not the best in the Godzilla series. GODZILLA VS. THE THING (1964; Video Title: GODZILLA VS. MOTHRA) is the best in the series, but GODZILLA VS. KING GHIDORAH has it's moments. However, since this is a remake of GHIDORAH-THE THREE HEADED MONSTER(1964) it is a dissapointment. As a fan of the series, this should have been released directly to American theaters instead of video. Besides that, their is poor dubbing and a confusing screenplay. But Thank God that Toho Studio's still uses men in convincing rubber costumes. The CGI special effects are so BAD. But watch the original series instead of GODZILLA VS. KING GHIDORAH.

This is a great godzilla movie.I like it when godzilla shoots his heatbeam and when it blows off King Ghidaora's neck off.

I wouldn't say this is the best 'zilla movie but it ranks high. The battles are cool and the effects are some of the best seen in any G' movie. The plot is okay and the acting is a little corny, but apart from that, this movie kix ass!

An OK film..but, yea gods, what a convulted and illogical plot!  The fellow who did GURPS Godzilla is the only one who came up with an explanation of what went on here, and Toho owes him a no-prize.

Enjoyable to watch if you're a fan, but the confusing plot will make non-fans *very* annoyed.

This is one of my all time favorite Godzilla films (mainly because it features the return of my other favorite monster, KING GHIDORAH!) and it was a real high water mark for the Heisei series.  Great effects, strong story, and Akira Ikufube's rousing music blasting as a bigger, meaner Godzilla marches out of the ocean.  A real blast.

Despite the high budget special effects of this movie, I still prefer the low budget special effects of the 1960's Godzilla movies.  However, this is quite good a movie.  There is some explanation on how both Godzilla and Ghidorah were formed.

One of my favorite Godzilla movies. It has the best plot giving some insight on 'Zilla's origin. Add a cool ending and you got a sure fire winner. I give it a 4.5/5

Besides the original 1950s Godzilla, this and Godzilla vs. Destroyah are my favorites.  The plot is admittedly a little hard to follow, but loved the back-story of the origin of Godzilla, the excellent final Godzilla/Ghidorah battle, and even the time-travel element and that cute Data-like android, M-11.  Good effects and effective creature suits too.

Of this series, this is VERY great remake of the 1st one-but you fans might agree that the ol' Ghidrah flyin in from outerspace IS ALOT more believable than 3 lil dorats(?)mutating into the present-thus left me feeling sorry for Ghidorah's defeat(note the old & new spelling). The innovative intro of MechaGhidrah is an aweinspiration yet a good way to see a girl in control of things..Nevertheless a worthy piece of godzilla film history

Godzilla always looks drunk.  I wonder how he was able to either destroy or (in later series) save the world from various creatures.  King Ghidorah rules.  He can kick Godzilla anytime.

I like this movie alot. I've seen the movie twice. One part I dont get is when the lady from the future thought she could take on a stronger Godzilla. Look, K.Ghidorah got his head shot off by a nuclear godzilla. How does she think she could destroy Godzilla with a K.Ghidorah with a metal middle head. C'mon! His beam blew off K.Ghidorah's  second head.
Also they would know Godzilla would come back. One thing
he can't drown. And Hell yeah he could survive a slow drop!

Like all monster movies, there are excellent crowd panic scenes.  An example is in Fukuoka.  The people are dressed in their best suits and dresses.  The scent of perfume, colognes, shampoo, and powder permeates the air as they flee from Ghidorah.

I didn't think the plot was hard to follow, although I saw a subtitled version not dubbed so I guess that could of had something to do with it. Probably my second favourite Godzilla film I've seen (I personally really like Godzilla vs The Sea Monster)

That had to be the worst unit in the American Armed Forces, did they swim ashore. Now I know alot of things have changed, but didn't the Marines during the second World War still need landing craft. And, did they just leave the dead on the beach? I hope they at least went ashore to get their dog tags.

Even thought I found the time travel conundrums (everybody remembers Godzilla even thought he was erased from history by the Futurians) hard to swallow, I think that this was the best of the 90's G-flicks. This is how I like Godzilla, a big mean ass-kicker with an attitude. I also like the twist of King Ghidorah emerging as 'the good guy' at the end. But the joke about Speilberg was stupid. It would have sounded better as "It'll be something to tell your kids about, Speilberg" instead of the way it was said in both the English-dubbed and Japanese versions.

My 4 year old son got a Godzilla toy from a friend, and called it a dinosaur. I corrected him, then realized he had never heard of Godzilla(gasp, bad parenting, I know...)
So we went to the video store and got the only (Japanese)'Zilla flick on the shelf... Vs. KING GHIDORAH...
Heres what I learned from this movie...
1. 4 year olds ask a LOT of questions
2. Kids, even 4 year olds, can pick out a plot hole a mile away("why did the copters explode? are the pilots dead?")
3. Japanese heli-pilots are expendable
4. My son thinks I'm nuts.
5. Androids can run at 100 miles per hour but only need to swing their arms like power walkers in slow motion.
6. My son thinks Im nuts.

He loved the movie, but I think he felt like OLD PEOPLE like me werent supposed to. Anyway...was a fun movie, and next up for the child...3 stooges(I have been slacking, havnt I?)

Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah is the best Heisei godzilla movie since Godzilla vs. Biollante I just loved the battle scenes and King Ghidorah looked scarier than he was before and Godzilla is a destructive force of nature. The special effects are state-of-the-art and the miniatures are great Godzilla again had one hell of a time fighting King Ghidorah again. This Heisei Godzilla movie is amazing and I just love the Heisei Godzilla movies.

Spectacular battles and a wonderfully ludicrous plot.  The futuristic Japanese girl in thigh-highs is cool (though her grating dubbed-in voice makes her sound braindead) and M-11 was impressive.  Ghidorah looks spectacular and Godzilla never looked better-- so savage and fearsome, unlike many of the 60's and 70's films which had him appear more human-looking and cartoonish.  A million times better than the much-maligned American remake with its weird looking mutated tyrannosaurus.

This is the ultimite Heisei series film; Godzilla VS King Ghidorah!!! The title alone is enough to grab everyone's attention! Man, I loved this film, especially Ghidorah's new look. But what i really love is His new cry!!! Much better then the old ghidroah's cry.

It is a good movie. I like them showing Godzilla's origin and the battles are good.  Just Mecha-King Ghidorah's aim, how hard is it to hit something 100m tall that is not moving that much? That was strange, as well as when K.Ghidorah's head got blasted off... It never landed, did anyone see it land?  It was funny too, defing the laws of gravity ("what goes up must come down", yeah not Ghidorah's head).  I enjoyed the movie maybe a 4.8/5

This is one of the worst GODZILLA movies ever made.GHIDORAH's new roar sucked it sounded like a subway train stopping.Plus his horns wiggled like a jack-in-box destroying any sense of realism. The old GHIDORAH was far more terrifying then this one and he moved in a more realistic way this one moved too stiff he was a joke.Poor story poor effects = BOMB.

In the year 1991,a ufo's spotted over Japan.

If I went through every agonizing detail,we'd be here forever,so I won't.

Just that it turns out the ufo's a time machine with future people, meaning they are people from the future who've traveled back in time to warn us that Godzilla will destroy the world, unless we travel futher back in time to WW2 and stop his mutation, what know one really knows is these Future Folks know Japans going to be a power to be reckoned with unless they stop Godzilla from being made and replace him with King Ghidrah.

Which they do,he then, under there controll start destroying Japan,(so what else is new?).Anyway one of the Future People,Miss Emi,doesn't want this to happen, she's part Japanese you know,so she puts android M-11 under her control, teams up with Terasawa and destroys the computer they want Japan to have.

Meantime WW2 hero Mr.Shindo reactivates Godzilla who at first kills King Ghidrah, but after that he's reverted back to being the same Godzilla we all know and hate.

So Miss Emi creates a robot King Ghidrah to finish Godzilla off, after a wild ride in the mecharobot she has Godzilla where she wants him and isn't going to let him go,however The Future People tells her to hurry with the job,see it's raining,I don't know what that has to with this operation, but somehow it just does, she drops the robot and Godzilla into the ocean and returns to the Future.
The future,invest in it wisely!.

I see where I did it again,I gotta stopped being rushed for time,it was suppose to be The Future People Leader tells Emi to hurry up with the job because it's raining, again why that matters I don't know.

But this only goes to prove, the future, not only invest in it wisely be try not to make the same mistakes!.

I hate to be the naysayer, but I found this one to be one of my least favorite G-flicks.  There's just something about the way this one flows that makes me not like it so much.  I expect a Godzilla film to be campy, but this exceeds all expectations.  I think the main thing that killed it for me was that this was the follow up to Godzilla vs. Biollante, which was a very dark and well done Godzilla movie.

Still, it's no Godzilla's Revenge.  Yech!
