Well, I thought I might point out an apparent (?) Jungle Book reference...  Shan-Kar/Shar-Kan?

Uh, was there some sequel where Dumbo's mom was killed, 'cause I seem to remember her on the train at the end of the version I saw.

BTW, there was also that great fight scene where a stock footage alligator fought a stock footage tiger (amazing since they seemed to be in different stock footage). I keep this movie handy on the video shelf for those nights when I just can't get to sleep.

<B>UPDATED BY ANDREW (Webmaster):</B>
I noticed my goof during the day, having removed the part explaining I'd like to see Dumbo's mother killed after seeing this movie during some rewrite.  Unfortunately Kurt, the evil man that he is, caught me first.

I'd just like to take credit for introducing this film, one way or another, to Andrew, Dr. Freex *and* Kurt, amongst others.  I'm sure it's the most evil thing I've done.

Andrew's gotten me back by sending me a copy of Hawk the Slayer, though.

I'd also like to note that if you looped the film clip Andrew provided and watched it (approximately) a hundred and eighty times in a row, then you'd get a servicable impression of the film entire.

Anyone who sat through this film should immediately watch the hilariously bad Hong Kong-produced King Kong ripoff MIGHTY PEKING MAN... A herd of elephants stampede near a group of explorers, who blaze away at them with rifles & sidearms... even at the cute baby elephants! JUNGLE HELL is yet another reason NOT to vote Republican this year! :)

Is this movie available anywhere ?

According to Films in Review (Oct '89) Sabu brought
suit against the producers for unauthorized use of clips
of him from other movies - he never really worked for them.
All his footage came from another jungle movie he made
that was abandoned.

The decision of the court was that it should never be
shown publicly (but I presume it's OK to show a 30 sec
clip <G>)

The author of the FIR piece had seen a print bearing the
logo of Medallion TV but didn't know if it had ever
been shown on TV

I saw a Sabu film years back, and the credits read "Sabu as Abu" and my husband and I cracked up. What was the point in giving him a different name in any film? Was this the film?

Frogs is my personal own Jungle Hell.  If you have seen that film, it is probably just has bad.  The only difference is that all the elephants are replaced with frogs and toads.  This movie popped into my head about 10 minutes after seeing so much stock footage of frogs.

Anyways, good review.  Just remember Andrew, you are not alone in the suffering over seeing so much unnesscary stock footage of animals.

George : Shep is doggie.
Ape : George, when will you accept that shep is really an elephant.
George : Shep just big grey peanut eating doggie.
