Got to the IMDB and see if you can find the review by the guy who worked at a theater the night this thing came out. Classic stuff.

What sad, strange, twisted little video store do you get to go to that stocks these movies, Andrew?  I have to search for copies of obscurist, bizarre movies, and you seem to have the Mom-and-Pop from Heck!
I love this site!

That white car is not a Rolls-Royce.

I saw this in glorious 35mm at a Sci-Fi marathon I went to last year.  The audience had no idea what they were in for. It blew my mind.  I immediately went out and bought the dvd.  It's that awesomely bad!

Predseda is right. It's not a Rolls. If my eyes don't deceive me it's a (overly) customized Pontiac Bonneville/Grandville.

Hmm...in that case, here's the next song number for 'The Apple':

"It's hard being a pimped-out Pontiac..."

Update: Menahem Golan/Yuri Globus (yes, THEM) are responsible for this...um...*creation*.

Take it for what it's worth.

I got to see The Apple this past weekend and I don't think that my brain will ever completely recover from it.

This movie is so bad that it exists in its own realm.

The worst thing is that as awful as the songs are, they really get stuck in your head.

I keep finding myself singing to myself "Voodoo apple, Ju Ju Apple."

Ok, I saw it. Totally badtastic! This movie should be shown back-to-back with "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and they should hand out candy apples during the hors d'oeuvre scene.

I love this movie. I know it has hardly any redeeming qualities, but I can't help it- it's just so... fascinating. This is definitely one of those good bad movies.

Remember: "Cultivate their need, Grab them by their greed!"

...I've got to stop comming to this site. I'm up to almost a half-dozen

"Sweet Jeezuz, I have to dig up this dump"

movies.

Fighting bad music with a bad musical. I think I might start foaming at the mouth.

 :bouncegiggle:

I will be adding this film to my collection and that's all there is to it.  I was mesmerized by that clip.   :twirl:

I miss where there was a video store you could find this kind of thing at.  Or...at least have this appear late at night on TV when you couldn't sleep.  I really really miss that.

"Personally, I think it had to be something he ate. Mercury, perhaps."

Nah, couldn't have been. Mercury was eaten up by Universal Music Group in the late 1980s.

Incredibly I saw this movie on Turner Classic Movies last night.  All I can say is that it was pretty craptacular.  Now comes the hard decision of whether to delete it off the Tivo or not.

Well I just saw this and I immediately deleted it from my DVR. My mouth is still agape at the bizarre ending. It was a semi-entertaining diversion to spot soap opera mainstay Finola Hughes in some scenes though...

Back in 1980, would this trailer had sent you scrambling for your nearest theater to see this?

I'm a bit late to the party, but does anyone else think this movie sounds a bit like a Jack Chick tract on acid? In fact, I'm pretty sure there's a Chick tract with a very similar plot (Christian rock group get seduced into the big time by a producer who's either the devil or working for him, then they learn their lesson).

I've been away too long. Thank you, Apple, for bringing me back. Thank you, Apple, for making me wish I were back in college so that I could write a whole thesis on you.

Everyone should be subjected to this movie, much like Schindler's list. Anyone who thinks they understand how the 80s killed the 70s really needs to take a close look.

This movie was made to make sure the hippies were dead. It may be a brilliant farce of itself, but I think it's more likely that it was funded so that it would have the opposite of its intended effect.

If this movie doesn't make you want to kill a christian, a hippie, a hipster, and anything that dare rear its head after, nothing will.

I caught this on THIS Network about a year ago....it made me wish I was high as a dog, as at least some of the folks involved with making this were.

Some movies are strange enough that it's nigh-impossible to gauge whether they're bad or not-THE APPLE definitely falls into that category.

It reminded me of a 1967 English film, PRIVILEGE....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46zw_qn_ZiI

which was similar, but not as glitz-spacy.
