This movie has everything: blood splattering kung-fu, decapitations, evil warriors, Crocodile Men, funny looking lazers, a sex scene in a spinning ring of fire, and the movie doesn't waste time, it gets straight to the non-stop violence and cheese. This thing is EPIC. If you don't have it yet, get it ASAP!

Two big thumbs up

I watched the trailer on Youtube and I also watched the crocodile men fight scene.
You gotta love how they ran the camera in reverse to give the illusion that the croc men were jumping out of the water onto the boat.
That, and the guys shooting laser beams from the palms of their hands in the trailer.

100% cheese!   :teddyr:

Looks like a jaw-dropping winner.  Mondo Macabro has been devoting some effort to digging these up and putting them on DVD for the market.  There must be a lot of hidden gems of cult cinema out there in some of the other film markets; the trick is finding them and picking out the ones that will hit all the right buttons for people.

Indonesia has the craziest cult stuff I know of but a lot of it is way too obscure and hard to find, I hope some more Barry Prima flicks get the Mondo Macabro treatment, been wanting to see Jaka Sembung ever since I saw some clips of it on the Lady Terminator DVD extras.

THE DEVIL'S SWORD looks like a lot of fun. Another film with similiar action is JUNGLE VIRGIN FORCE which a must see. You can find a copy on the Tales of Voodoo double feature DVD. Indonesia sure makes some super crazy films.

I think the Best Buy here had a box set of all those Voodoo Tale DVDs before, looks like I need it!

Zombiedudeman JUNGLE VIRGIN FORCE is a good one and I know you'll enjoy it. The other film on the DVD called HELL HOLE isn't as good. It was ok, kinda tame, and even boring in parts with a couple good moments.

The double DVD is about $6 or $7 if I remember correctly.

holy crap, in Janurary all the Tales of  Voodoo movies will be released together for only $13 at amazon
 over here  (http://www.amazon.com/Tales-Voodoo-Box-Set/dp/B000G1ALRA/sr=1-1/qid=1164598816/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-8596001-3382452?ie=UTF8&s=dvd)

I think I'll wait for this to come out, some of the other titles in it look good. Yeah I read about that Hell Hole movie being a bit weak but Jungle Virgin Force sounds like it makes up for it

If you haven't seen it already check out MONDO MACABRO'S release called ALUCARDA. Insane Mexican film that is crazier than Japans SCHOOL OF THE HOLY BEAST.

MONDO MACABRO has some gems.

yep I got Alucarda, that one is crazy, a whole lotta screaming and blood in it.  did anyone check out that Indian horror boxset Mondo Macabro put out? it looks like some more quality weirdness

Here is a 2 part video on youtube about the history of horror films in India. Also I just read at MONDO MACABRO that VIRGINS FROM HELL is a biker film. It must be added to the biker database poll.

One thing that I thought was hilarious in the trailer is the size of the scabbard that the Devil's Sword resides in.
Giant scabbard, small sword!

I just added Virgins from Hell to my Amazon wishlist last night.  LOL, I guess I'm on the right message board.

Just checked out the clips. Absolutely hilarious!! Did you get the one about the Hairy Beast?

Note the cunning use of zoom and cutting. And the dancing scene which are absolutely required for the plot

If there is one thing I've learned over the years about this board, it is this:

YOU GUYS ARE DANGEROUS TO MY WALLET

After reading this thread, I went ahead and pre-ordered the Tales Of Voodoo set, and put The Devil's Sword at the top of my Netflix.  Damn you all for making me buy more DVDs!

Skaboi, after thinking about this post I bought JUNGLE GIRLS TRIPLE FEATURE distributed by Shriek Show at Best Buy which includes:

  • Golden Temple Amazons (Jess Franco)
  • Amazonia: Catherine Miles Story
  • Diamonds of Kilimajaro (Jess Franco)

Instead of Indonesian Jungle films they are all Italian jungle films like SLAVE OF THE CANNIBAL GOD. Will post about them after viewing sometime this month.

Those Shriek Show boxsets rule, I have the Cannibal and Psycho Killers ones, didn't know there was a Jungle Girls one now too, this I need  although I've never seen a Jess Franco film but I heard they tend to be pretty slow.

Welcome to my world.  Since "The Devil's Sword" is available on DVD, that goes on my list of DVDs to pick up.  And, gosh darn it, I just noticed that "Shock Treatment" is out on DVD.  How did I miss that release?  Another for the list.

Shock Treatment?  I've never been able to sit all the way through that one.  I haven't tried watching it in years...might see about renting it soon.
