Title: Annoying Kids In Films
Post by: Mr. DS on December 13, 2006, 06:07:26 PM
I just watched Fulci's Sweet House Of Horror for a review I'm planning.  They had two of the most annoying kids in movie history and annoyingly enough, the movie focused on them.  Anyone ever face a kid in a movie that you would have liked to seen vanquished by the end of the film? As bad as that may sound...

Bob from Fulci's The House By The Cemetery. That horribly dubbed voice going "vroom" all the time drove me nuts.

Pepe from 20 million Miles To Earth. The lying, greedy little ****.

Michael the freakboy from Burial Ground. Very disturbing, especially his fascination with his mother.

The kid in Flight of the Navigator ruined what would have otherwise been a good film.

Harvey Stephens in The Omen, what a whiner...

Just about any kid that appears in one of the classic "Gamera" films is enough to put my nerves on edge.  The way that they tended to dress those kids does not help.

I agree about Pepe, from 20 Million Miles to Earth. (http://www.badmovies.org/movies/ymir/)  First you have to put up with him crying about needing money to buy a cowboy hat, then you realize that everything bad that happened is a direct result of the little brat.  When the Ymir was atop the Coliseum, they should have launched Pepe at it with a huge slingshot.  Then the Ymir could have either ducked, resulting in splatted Pepe on the stone, or swatted the kid out of the air.

Any kid in a movie where there is people dying and the kid is sometimes in BIG danger, but the writer or director duzznt have the balls to kill him/her off simply due to the fact that he/she is a kid.

The Nintendo-savant kid from the Wizard
C-Ko from Project A-KO has to be one of the most annoying kids in anime.
Probably save us a lot time if anyone could think of a kid that wasn't that annoying..

I agree about Micheal. If that creepy little basterd came anywhere near me ,even in the same ROOM, I would shoot him on the spot."Sorry- thought it was a zombie, people.Carry on."
And that little sissy who gets beat up in the Son of Godzilla movie...whiney little spacehead nimrod. Get a life, kid. If you walk around all day with your thumb in yer mouth day dreaming about Minya, you BEG for a beating!
The little boy in Son of Frankenstien who looks dangerously close to Shirly Temple.I wANTED Boris to do us all a big favor and dump his precocious little ass into the sulpher pit.
Now the kid who injects rabid dog blood into the hippies meat pies in I DRINK YOUR BLOOD-now HE was cool!

That girl in Stick It is the most annoying person I've ever seen.  She was 24 years old but played a character who acted like she was maybe 12.  She thought everything and everyone was just soooo stupid, every word out of her mouth was a smart alleck put down...I really wanted to cave in her skull with a mace.

Thought of a few more...

The girl from Pinnochio's Revenge...way too chipper.
The kid from Wes Craven's New Nightmare.  I believe he was in Pet Semetary.
The kids from Jurrasic Park.

Quote
Bob from Fulci's The House By The Cemetery. That horribly dubbed voice going "vroom" all the time drove me nuts.

Shadow, seems it could very well be a Fulci thing with kids and dubbing.  They all come off souding like a boy's choir member.

The kid in the story of Ricky did NOTHING, so how could he be annoying?

And 0_0 at that gnarly shot of his mouth. (people who've seen it know what I mean.)

And I'm defending Short Round from Temple of Doom.

I just thought of one that really made want to reach through the screen and strangle with his own intestines: Billy the uber brat from Herschell Gordon Lewis' Two Thousand Maniacs!

I agree, it's a plot point, usually the kid or kids do something stupid and must be saved by the grown ups, some of whom get killed, just once I'd like to see the annoying kid be stupid and have the adults say Gee that's really got to hurt. The kid in Feast got munched pretty quick but wasn't in the movie long enough to annoy me.

I was thinking of the fat kid in Story of Ricky, not the one that tried to play the flute with leaves. The way the fat kid laughed and talked was annoying in a funny way, he was a real jerk haha.

Ozzymandias speaks: I nominate that little hillbilly kid in Medium Cool. I'd rather had seen him die at the end that Robert Forester and Vera Bloom. I'd also like to have seen more of the late Peter Boyle trying to teach little old ladies how to fire a hand gun.

YES! The greek Kenny!...or was it Sicilian?...well on his way to being a mob dealmaker, i bet...
ANY annoying kid is a "Kenny", after all. At least here in the Badmovie world.
Oh, there are SO many to loath...

Hummmm...good idea...what kids do we NOT hate?
For me, the girl who played Dorathy in RETURN TO OZ. Remember her, Andrew?
Billy Mumy on LOST IN SPACE. Even as a kid, i thought he was a guy you could relate to.
Charlie in the update of WILLY WONKA. Very NOT annoying.
Also the boy in TIME BANDITS.
Mike in 8 LEGGED FREAKS! Could grow up to be the Mike in NOTHING IS OUT THERE....is that the title, Andrew?

Any others?

I have to mention Macaulay Culkin in Jacob's ladder.

I had been late up one night, watching some random stuff, and i decided to watch this movie, Jacob's ladder that they where sending. I had never heard of it before. It completely took me by surprise how good it was. extremely scary and thought provoking! Then, in one of the very last scenes, Macaulay Culkin comes in. It just ruined it a bit for me. I couldnt stop thinking about those blasted home alone movies!

I still think Jacob's ladder is a brilliant movie tho.

Dakota Fanning in anything, annoying little over-coached wired-up line spewing android! Just irritates me anytime she's on screen, even when not acting. Can't watch her anymore.

Anyone else ever see one of Lee Marvin's last films, Dog Day. After escaping from a big time robbery gone wrong and getting wounded, Lee hides out in a barn on an isolated farm in the French countryside. And proceeds to be tormented by an overactive brat on the sugar rush of all sugar rushes. The whole film is a mess after the robbery goes south and a brilliant scene of Marvin running through a wheat field as the camera swoops over (beautiful but means little to the rest of the movie), and IMDB tells me I forgot more of the details than I thought, but my hatred of that kid lives on. Whining, crying, picking on poor old sick Lee Marvin, that kid made a merely blah movie into torture to watch.

The kid from Six-String Samurai is pretty up there as far as annoying kids go.  Especially because of what happens to Buddy because of his idiocy.

That movie is rough to get through.  At least, the non-MST version I have was difficult to watch.  The Japanese have a knack for making children that you would not mind watching roll into an active volcano, screaming the entire way.

Also, welcome aboard!

I gotta agree on PINOCCHIO'S REVENGE girl, it has been a while, but I think I remember hating her.

Howzabout...

Bastion from Neverending Story

Jamie from the PIT, actually he's cool I think he should be in Freddy vs Jason 2

little boy from XTRO

Kid in Wheelchair in MAC N ME should have bit the dust when he flew off the cliff!!

And the biggest youthful douchebag in the entire b-cinematic canon....JOSHUA!!!!

"Sing Joshua!  Sing.  Sing that song I like so much!"

TROLL 2

also Stewie Gluck from FREAKED

How about the freaky looking kid from The Godsend with Robert De Niro?  His eyes and weirdly shaped head bug the hell out of me, plus I find he can't act at all.

Joshua was very annoying, but I take comfort in the fact that he is going to end up in in mental institution, wearing an "I love myself" suit.  Between talking to his dead grandpa all the time, urinating on the table, and screaming about being turned into vegetables and eaten - the parents are going to commit that boy and only visit on holidays.

Yikes, I had forgotten about Stewie in "Freaked."

Welcome aboard as a regular, Lordwormm.

Have anyone seen "Cannibal Terror"? This little girl was really, really annoying. During whole movie she walked with three criminals saying "Are we going to papa?", "Where is papa?", "Daddy, dady hiehieh" and other idiotic things. I don't know how it looks with orginal dubbing ( It's spanish as I remember) but her voice was also tragic. Generally whole movie is crap (one of the cannibals looks like actor from D'Amato's porno and wears sport shoes) and you'd better avoid it.

I never liked that kid Juanito from "The Black Scorpion" or Sandy from "Monster that Challenged the World".

The worst of all are ANY kid from a TOHO or Daiei film. There must not be any child labor laws in Japan, those kids have far too much screen time.

Sandy from "Monster that Challenged the World".

You mean the brat that turns up the temperature in the laboratory, because she is afraid that her bunny will get cold?  At the very least, the script could have taught her a lesson by making her watch in horror as the prehistoric snail ate the bunnies.

Welcome aboard!

I know they are not in the film very long, but the two kids at the end of War of the Colossal Beast (http://www.bmoviegraveyard.com/reviews/WarOfTheColossalBeast/) drove me nuts. The teacher is calling and calling them, but they're too busy with their inane chatter to heed her calls. By the time they do get their asses in gear and on the bus, the Colossal Beast comes along and grabs the conveyance. If they had just shut the hell up and listened to their teacher, they would have made it away from the observatory in time. As it is, I was hoping the Colossal Beast would chuck that bus with all his might at the crowds below.

Surf Ninjas, that one kid with the Game Gear was totally LAME!

If this movie weren't for Leslie Neilson, the whole movie (and not just the little boy) would have been annoying.  I mean, come on, Rob Shneider!

Another annoying kid is the boy from "Trauma" who almost cuts off his own head.  But I have to agree with members about "The House by the Cemetery."  That boy was just plain awful.

Hey Zombiedudeman, what is your member photo of?  I just can't seem to figure it out.

This is kind of embarrassing since Miracle on 34th Street is one of my favorite Christmas movies, but in watching it on Christmas Eve I noticed that at the party on Christmas Day Natalie Wood gets all bratty acting and kind of snotty when she doesn't find her dream house under the tree, stays that way in the car on the ride to the house, I never really noticed this till now, guess I always knew she'd get her house in the end. This time though as I watched the film I wished someone would shove an ornament up her nose.
