Title: RIP James Brown, The Godfather of Soul
Post by: trekgeezer on December 25, 2006, 04:58:24 PM
Man, what a bummer for Christmas.  I guess the refrains of "I Feel Good!" will be ringing through eternity now.

You're right...what a bummer.   :bluesad:
I used to hate James Brown's songs...but as I grew older, I came to like many of them.

I had one of the BMW films with him in it on the Badmovies.org Myspace page for quite awhile.
It's titled "Beat the Devil".
In the short film, James made a deal with the devil for fame & fortune when he was young and now, much older, he wants to renegotiate his contract by holding a car race against Satan himself.

My favorite lines in it that always seem to get stuck in my head are...
"Stick your face in the hole."
"My face?"
"Stick it in the hole!"
"My face?"
"Face in the hole!"
"My face?"
"Face! ....Sh*t.....!"

Funny stuff!
(and it was directed by Tony Scott)

Rest in peace Godfather
