Title: Server Downtime Post by: Andrew on January 04, 2007, 11:36:54 PM The server experienced a high load and stopped responding at approximately 9:45 PM EST. Monitoring caught it within 10 minutes and the server returned to operation at about 10:25 PM. However, the database part of the server was not working properly. One of the problems was that two techs were working on the issue, along with me. Once I started communicating with them, we identified what was going on and they restored my tuned configuration file (vice one that a tech had tried to get things running). Once that was done, the databases came back up at about 11:20.
Totally ruined my night, as I was planning on starting work on a "Shock Treatment" review. Oh well. |
