DINOSAURUS

Oh man, that kid was annoying.  And how do we know plant-eating dinosaurs would be friendly to humans?  Semi-fun, anyway.

SESSION 9

I went back and reviewed some of the discussion here after watching SESSION 9.  I think I agree with Freep's point of view, though it was okay.  I think I would rate it at about 3.5 or 4 out of 5 or so.  Not the best in the world, not really earth shattering, but notably better than most modern horror.  I really liked the cinematography and direction.  Curuso was not-so-Caruso-esque, which was good, too.

BELLY OF THE BEAST

Seagal kicks butt.  Again.  I was mostly getting some paperwork done through this one, but my wife enjoyed it.  I heard her snicker a few times when Seagal would hit someone and they flew 18 ft across the room.  51 bad guys is not match for him.  Has anyone ever thought to pit Seagal and Chuck Norris against each other in a movie?

THE CORPSE GRINDERS

Went into this with low expactations, and it did not disappoint.  Really bad, but not, imo, unenjoyable at its own level.  The funnest game I found while watching TCG was "why did they do THAT?"  Baby-san is a stupid name for a cat, what was with that blinking light on the grinding machine (it did not seem to correlate to any function), and why did they have garbage cans of body parts there, whey they were sticking WHOLE CORPSES into the grinder?  Mostly, it was hard to make fun of - BAD, really BAD acting and really BAD direction and camera work, but not without some inexplicable redeeming quality.  What other movies do you see a doctor (who looks more like a male porn star) dissect a cat in a hospital room to see what it has been eating?  Shoot, I'll even admit that at about 1 hour (with about 15 minutes to go), I found myself into the story and wondered how it would be resolved...they could have gone in several directions.

As you all may recall, my wife and I have a special fondness for PLEDGE NIGHT - we watched it on our first date.  THE CORPSE GRINDERS has a similar 'feel' in quality to me.   And with a screen name like Ulthar, how can I dislike a movie that shows cats doin' there thing?

Always liked to see "Dinosaurus" on TV, just because it had stop motion dinosaurs.  I was quite sad then the kid-friendly brontosaurus finally caught up to the rest of its race (by becoming extinct).  The battle at the end between the tyrannosaurus and the steam shovel was good stuff.

At least, I think they were a brontosaurus and a tyrannosaurus rex.

I found "The Corpse Grinders" to be very, very painful to watch.  I could not even enjoy it with my mind turned all the way to grade z.
