Title: What Kung Fu Movie Is This? Post by: Ash on January 25, 2007, 06:50:43 PM I posted the link to this film in a different thread awhile back but I never did find out what it was called.
WATCH IT HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3ylvx1GArs) I'd love to buy this movie...if only I knew what the title was. It says "Monkey Kung Fu" on Youtube but I can't believe that's the real title. Anyone? Title: Re: What Kung Fu Movie Is This? Post by: Doc Daneeka on January 25, 2007, 07:09:56 PM Snake in the Monkey's Shadow maybe? I think I found another clip of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq6u62INvgY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq6u62INvgY) There is also a movie actually called monkey Kung Fu, but I think it's confused with another film, you can find the confusion here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078969/#comment (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078969/#comment)
Quote Lo Mar's "Monkey Kung Fu" does not have much of a story but the action and performance by martial arts choreographer Tony Ching Siu-Tung ("House of Flying Daggers", "Chinese Ghost Story") is absolutely amazing. His athletic stunts, wireless jumps and kicks are a joy to behold. The new Shaw Brothers DVD is the best deal to watch this incredible action. However, it seems there is a little mix-up in the names and the user comments of the film. The time I'm writing this, the IMDb picture shows "Monkey Kung Fu" aka. "Monkey Fist, Floating Snake", a vastly inferior movie. But the cast refers to the Shaw film, which is also listed as "Stroke of Death" (1980) - its alternative title. "Monkey Kung Fu" by Lo Mars starring Ching Siu-Tung tells of a small time crook who gets sentenced to prison. He meets a one-eyed master in the cell who gives him a mysterious object. Ching breaks out of prison with another guy and searches for the answer to the riddle which will lead him to "Gibbon Fist Clan"'s kung-fu technique. Title: Re: What Kung Fu Movie Is This? After a lot of searching and confusion of titles, I discovered that it is indeed titled "Monkey Kung Fu". WATCH THE TRAILER (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nSs_EOVGuU) I'm definitely going to have to pick this one up. Title: Re: What Kung Fu Movie Is This? I have a few of the olders one, with Jackie Chan. What fun stuff. Title: Re: What Kung Fu Movie Is This? Post by: princess dragonmom on January 30, 2007, 02:22:46 PM I love kung fu movies too. I collect them, I have a few rares. I prefer the classic old school style from the 70s through the early 80s. I'm not big on New Wave.
