Title: Boogie Nights
Post by: Mr. DS on February 04, 2007, 11:43:12 AM
One of my most all time favorite mainstream movies is Boogie Nights.  Wondering if anyone else likes it.  Has some of my all time favorite cinematic laugh out loud moments;
1.) The donut shop robery where Buck gets sprayed with blood all over his white suit
2.) The part where Dirk, Reed and Todd go into that crazy drug addict's house to make a fake deal.  Makes me want to put "Sister Christian" on the I-Pod actually.
3.) The chick who over doses on coke and the guy who freaks out about it.
4.) A coked out Dirk trying desperately to "get it up".
5.) Anything William H. Macy does in the film.

I haven't seen the movie in a long time but I did like it. Might have to check it out again.

I hated it. It was boring for me and I thought the leads were terrible.

After Boogie Nights, one can never listen to Transformers: the Movie, "You've Got the Touch" in the same way ever again..

I thought that Boogie Nights was a fantastic movie even if it did have a predictable plot in some respects.

I thought that Julianne Moore deserved an Oscar nomination for this film.

Mark Wahlberg actually turned in a good performance.

Heather Graham did full frontal nudity.   :cheers:

It almost reminded me of an Altman movie at a lot of points.

fooled around and fell in love

that's my finance's and my theme song.

and don't forget, after sister christian ends, we get 99 red balloons in that scene.  good movie (seeing that i am an avn awards attendee-no, no award, just spectator)  i loved that the basic premis is that all these characters are small time by mainstream evaluation, but want to be viewed as 'stars'.

I'm still surprised that his movie got an R rating with only 40 seconds of cuts.
