Title: Favorite Bruce Willis Movie?
Post by: Ash on February 14, 2007, 05:33:12 AM
Cast your vote...

Bruce Willis is one of my favorite actors working today.
He's played a lot of roles but he'll always be John McClane to me.
Die Hard got my vote.
Last Man Standing is my second choice.

What's your favorite Bruce Willis movie?

I am probably going to get shot for this, Ash but Hudson Hawk is actually quite a good movie and I enjoy it more every time I see it. The negative critical reaction at the time made me think that the critics felt their money had been spent making the movie. And besides, the film got me hooked on cappucino for life, how bad can that be? :drink:

Others I liked:

Die Hard
Last Man Standing
The 6th Sense
Die Hard 2 Die Harder
Die Hard With A Vengeance
Die Hard: Die Already (the spoof that he was "filming" in the "Mad About You" episode
In Country
Armageddon

I voted for 12 Monkeys simply because it's the movie that proved that Willis could really act.

Now that's a brave admission.

I chose Die Hard myself. I like all three, but it set the pace and makes a pretty cool Christmas movie with a difference.

Does his cameo appearance in Loaded Weapon 1 count? :teddyr:

:bouncegiggle: It does count, I think.  :teddyr:

Thanks, Menard (what is that in your avatar?)  I think his cameo in that film (I loved him shouting at the gunman "What the hell are you doing?" and then later saying "No problem, no problem" ) is the best scene in that film.

I like Hudson Hawk. (Trevor ducks) :tongueout:

Menard (what is that in your avatar?)

Self portrait. :tongueout:

I actually don't know, it just seemed to fit.

EDIT: I originally had a picture of Ash as my avatar, but it was way too scary. (http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Happy/happy-073.gif)

(just kidding Ash) :teddyr:

I'm really not a Bruce Willis fan at all. Picked PULP FICTION and I also liked LAST MAN STANDING, FIFTH ELEMENT, and SIXTH SENSE.

And I really must give the DIE HARD films a chance. I tried watching them a couple time and it kinda bored me and didn't finish any of them. Again I'm not a big Bruce Willis fan. Just don't find him interesting. I might make it a point to watch all the DIE HARD films all the way through one day.

I chose Fifth Element, just because it is one of my favorite films period, and Bruce Willis just happens to be in it. I also loved Die Hard (the first one) and 12 Monkeys. I like Bruce Willis (I was even thinking of doing this exact poll but hadn't gotten around to it yet). Yes, he pretty much plays the same guy over and over, but it is a good character and he is usually fun to watch.

I went with the First Die Hard but I loved them all. some runner ups would be Fifth Element, 12 Monkeys and I did like him in Unbreakable.

Unbreakable with 12 Monkeys not too far behind.

As far as his acting goes, I would say Unbreakable.

In regards to sheer entertainment value, the first Die Hard without a doubt.

I enjoy most of the movies he is in.
The Fifth Element because it is really fun to watch and I watch it the most.
12 monkeys would be my second.

Went with Bandits as my number one choice but I also enjoyed Hudson Hawk, the movie is really out there, it probably appeals to my sense of the ridiculous. I have to say that all of his movies are good, he's one of those actors that I just like to see in a film. :teddyr:

The picture you have,Menard,is the charecter that the rock band DISTURBED use as their mascot(kinda like Eddie was for Iron Madien).I know this cuz my 12 year old,Eddie,is a fan of theirs.
I choose Pulp Fiction.

I went with Die Hard, and Die Hard 2 is a close second.  I also really enjoyed Hudson Hawk, so you're not alone Trevor!

Fifth element was my favorite movie out of those, but not necessarily for Bruce's acting. He was good, but that swedish model and Gary Oldman definately owned.

For some reason, I usually cannot stand him in movies.  "Fifth Element" is the exception, because I love that movie and Oldman's over-the-top performance, along with Milla, are probably the main reasons.

I'm with you 100% Andrew. Don't care for any of his movies, except fifth element. Milla was in no small way the leading cause though. .  :teddyr:

Mine is The Last Boy Scout. haha. That isnt on the list. Is that a bad thing?

Easily "Die hard", although I have soft spots for "The Las Boy Scout" and "Hudson Hawk" (I just love the quirky dialogue in both movies). His last great movie is probably "Hostage", which was a pleasant surprise. Let's see if "Die Hard 4.0" turns out good too.

I added The Last Boy Scout to the poll.

Can't believe I actually forgot that one.   :tongueout:

Hi,
I like action movies and The right movies of this type is provided by this actor.I like both the parts of Die Hard. The Sixth Sense was also a good film.Apart from this I like Mercury Rising,Twelve Monkeys,Pulp Fiction.

I went with Die Hard, and Die Hard 2 is close behind.  Personally I couldn't stand the Fifth Element, that TV show host totally and completely ruined what might have otherwise been a fairly weird and moderately interesting film.  I've tried watching 12 Monkeys on a few ocassions but never made it more than 10 minutes or so.

I picked Die Hard just to represent all the Die Hards I watched, although I've yet to see Die Harder in its entirety.  And I liked Armageddon too (Wanna make somethin of it?  Ya young punk!)

You forgot North in your list ("How I hated, hated, hated, hated,I hated, hated that movie" )

But seriously Unbreakable got his best acting and Die Hard is how e learned to love him.

The scene with Bruce and Danny Aiello singing and blowing up stuff is hard to beat.

Die Hard is the first movie that comes to mind when anyone mentions Bruce Willis, and it's my favourite of his films. Truly enjoyable and eminently watchable.

Surrogates wasn't too bad. Not great, but not bad. Saw that one in the cinema, too.

Color of Night was... kinda weird. Strange that Bruce Willis was part of the erotic drama trend along with Two Moon Junction, Basic Instinct and Angel Heart.

As much as everyone loves The Fifth Element, I don't remember much apart from Milla Jovovich saying 'multipass', the blue alien opera singer, and some tweaker at Bruce Willis' door squealing, gimme the cassshhhh!'

I voted 12 MONKEYS. I like PULP FICTION most of these, but I don't consider it a "Bruce Willis movie." It's a movie Bruce Willis appeared in, but it's an ensemble piece and, if it belongs to any single actor, it's a "Samuel Jackson movie." Bruce was the featured player in most of the rest of those.
