Title: The Official Show Your Support for Menard Day
Post by: Menard on February 22, 2007, 05:45:36 PM
This is a note to the little pussies who keep voting me down.

My karma has been on a yo-yo ride the past two days. It is up to 25, then down to 23, then up to 24, then back to 23.

I guess if I had posted something to offend a whiny little crybaby (like opening their eyes to how much a particular movie sucks), then I could understand the cowardly little act of taking shots at me anonymously, but hell, I've been pretty tame over the past few days, even for myself; or, should I take this as a message that the negative votes are pleas for abuse, because I would be more than happy to accommodate.

If someone wants to vote me down, hell, let me earn it first (and I can surely do that). I don't see any need to be proactive in voting in anticipation of what I have not said yet; yes, most likely I will say it.

Let me just say that I have an idea of who has been voting me down; they just need to grow some balls and tell me that they did. Yes, I will still abuse you for it, but it will be less cruel than what I do to you once I confirm who did it without telling me. (http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Laughing/lol-065.gif)

Here's a great idea: let's have a Show Your Support for Menard Day.

Yes, it is purely extortion. And your point is?

Let's give Menard back the 4 points of karma he has lost over the past two days (don't ya just love it when I speak in third person; comes off like a demon, huh?(http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Laughing/lol-065.gif)).

Let's avoid me really earning negative karma. :teddyr:

Capiche?

One of my concerns about the karma system is idiocy and yes, it still concerns me.  Actually, I have thought recently about turning it off - after looking at the logs and then trying to understand why negative karma was given.  We do not all seem to be able to use it as the system was intended.

I never give backwards Karma (except once with Ashthecat when he was being dramatic about it :tongueout: ...), hell I've been trying to ease the load on poor Wyre lately! But look Menard, people give and take Karma for minor things without thinking really, your Karma ain't really a measure of how we really think, just what kinda mood we're in! Look at me, just eleven Karma and I'm well respected around here, right?!?

...right?

Uh...sure...right.

I have only given negative karma twice: once to Issac for lying, and once to WyreWizard...well...for being WyreWizard (specifically, his comments about how he got enjoyment from abusing human beings he saw as only drunks actually offended, if not sickened me). Essentially, I look at negative karma as only being earned, from me anyway, by going too far; disagreeing with me, calling me names, or considering me a low-life is perfectly reasonable and not deserving of negative karma. I can certainly earn negative karma (and I think we can all agree with that :teddyr:), but I would like to earn it and not have it parted out like Halloween candy.

Oh...sorry...I forgot....

Why does everyone care so much about the karma? It doesn't really do anything and it has nothing to do with bad movies. It's only aparent function is to p**s off Menard and make WyreWizard look like a shmuck. (what is he at now, -12?). I think you should get rid of it, Andrew. Or keep it. I doesn't really matter to me, but if it really matters THAT MUCH to you Menard, I'll give you one.

Can't we all just get along?

It's not the number that matters to me. I have said before that we all know who is who (pardon my grammar) on this forum without the need for karma. What I found irritating was the cavalier manner in which someone was apparently playing with my karma (get your mind out of the gutter). My karma was not voted down for something I posted, but it was voted down specifically because it was me. We don't need someone with a chip on their shoulder doling out negative karma to anybody they feel like whether it was earned or not, and I am not alone in having been treated like this. If they want to vote me down simply because they don't like me (oh gee, someone doesn't like me; will I ever get over it) that is fine, but they should have the balls to tell me how they feel and to be able to stand up to the bashing they so richly deserve, and which I will gleefully provide. :teddyr:

BTW, I have made up my missing karma; actually, I got a few more than what was missing, so I need to dole out a few more positive points myself.

Ah...ah feel like an acceptance speech.

(sniff) I have been so hu....humbled (sniff) by the positive response to my post (sni...aachoo) scuse me. I would like to thank everybody responsible....me :tongueout:.

I would like to thank a few members of the board for their continual support over the years (urrrp).

(sniff)

Scott (sniff) has always provided me with the hope, that despite one's problems, there is always therapy....I mean...hope; even if it is a lit match in a hurricane.

Andrew (sniff..urrrp) has taught me that despite what they say about jarheads.....uh...despite...uh...well.....I'm certain there was something I was going to say.

I would like to thank Trekgeezer for always making me feel young (sniff)...and allowing me to stalk him on other boards.

I would like to thank Double Odinn7 for giving me a greater appreciation of squirrels (uuuuuurrrrrp).

I would like to thank Skaboi for teaching me that (sniff) no matter what I say, it could never be as embarrassing as starting a thread about actresses I want to do.

I would like to thank Dennis and Poogie for the unintentional lesbian reference. Intentional or not, I always enjoy a good lesbian (ee..ee) reference.

I would like to thank Rich Andrini for teaching me that regardless how old you get (snifferp), there is always room for animated women.

I would like to thank raj for teaching me that dogs (aah...ahhh) and rugs (choo) do go together.

I would like to thank RCMerchant (sniff) for teaching me that when the written word sometimes looks like gobbledegook, it's not always my fault.

I would like to thank Mr. Briggs Inc. (eeerrrpp) for teaching me that positive votes for WyreWizard are not a waste of....uh....are not a waste of....; oh hell, they are a waste.

I would like to thank KYGOTC (sniff) for.....uh....I'll get back to you.

(I hope we all know that this has been in the spirit of fun) (http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Tongue/mockery-022.gif)

I know I have missed thanking several members of the board, however, if you will let me know that I missed you, I will provide a very special thanks for you too.

Menard, you made my wife say "WOW that felt good", so even though that has caused me a great psychological trauma, I gave you a karma for that.

Once at a shoot (photo shoot, wiseasses), I had the minister of the church and his girlfriend, with her daughter, in the session. After the session, which the girlfriend enjoyed very much (get your minds out of the gutter), she remarked that she had not had so much fun with a man before; I don't know why the minister avoided me after that.

Poor guy. He took that the wrong way.

Perhaps the negative karma was given just on general principle (ie, Menard = Menard, therefore negative karma?)

=)

It wasn't me.  But it wouldn't break my heart if you shut the karma thingy off, Andrew.   We know what's cool around here.

We once went camping with my brother-in-law's church group, each night after the children were asleep us adults would gather around a large fire, drink coffee or cocoa or something stronger and tell off-color jokes, nothing really dirty but most were about the world's oldest funny subject, and minister and his wife told some off the best ones. :buggedout: :buggedout:

This is in response to Menard's post about the photo session, not about Zapranoth's post about karma

I miss the beginning of some of the good threads by reading and posting in the early morning hours. Then again I seem to be synced up timewise with some of the non-USA posters and fellow night owls like Ash. So it balances out.

I missed the beginning of Menard whoring for karma points, darn. Don't like the idea of people losing points for no good reason or for mere sport. Since karma is pretty much cause and effect as I understand the concept, I tend to regard the points that way here.

I rarely give or take karma points, special circumstances are usually required, good or bad. Or if someone makes me really laugh, great sources of humor get karma points from me also.

I'm actually more surprised when my points increase rather than the times when they decline, I can usually have a good guess why when that happens.

So I'll just give Menard a point for the minister story, it amused me.

I think there might be a new religion in this, Menard! No longer shall we be subject to the give and take, the yin and yang, of life. Instead, we shall DEMAND that life give us brownie points or else we'll know the reason why!  :tongueout:

Sounds like a plan to me; I'll give you a karma point. The whole thing makes at least as much sense as scientology.

Menards speech made me all teary eyed. I'm speechless............

Gave Menard a Karma today. Because everyone else did . Remember Menard there's always YATTA when Karma is low . So yes Menard there is always hope (and Therapy, Gigli, Zombie Lake, etc).

Gave Dennis Karma for allowing/accepting/acknowledging that Menard made Poogie feel good. Somehow this was a big step and one that will build upon your great relationship Dennis and Poogie.

And I must confess to giving only one person negative karma and that was when Ashthecat received a -1 Karma. Don't remember why I did it. There was no reason. Probably just wanted to test-fire the negative karma button. There I feel better now. How about you Ash? Karma is nothing more than being over or under. Over or underwear you may ask. Perhaps you didn't ask, but that's not the point. What I'm trying to say is that no matter where you are then that's where your are. Unless your somewhere else then that's a totally different thing. Being two place at once that is. Which reminds me of teleportation which really has nothing to do with being in more than one place at the same time.

And I gave everyone else Karma........well just for participating in the Support For Menard Karma Day. It should be just one of many annual feel good events during the year here at Badmovies.org.

Let's all turn to The Amazing Criswell our B-Movie chaplain for words to live by and for a moment of reflection.

"Greetings, my friends. We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember, friends— future events such as these will affect you in the future. You are interested in the unknown, the mysterious, the inexplicable— that is why you are here. And now, for the first time, we are bringing you the full story of what happened on that fateful day. We are giving you all the evidence, based only on the secret testimony of the miserable souls who survived this dreadful ordeal. The incidents, the places… My friend, we can’t keep this a secret any longer! Let us punish the guilty. Let us reward the innocent. My friend… Can your heart stand the shocking facts about grave-robbers from outer space?"

When Criswell says "Let us punish the guilty. Let us reward the innocent" I think he speaks for all of us on the subject of positive and negative karma.

Let the festivities continue !  !  !  !  !

Hey... Scott.   Is the gun good?   Or is the penis good?

Let's take a moment to reflect.

In this thread alone, we have now had mention of head, penis, and vagina; not to mention, liberal use of the term p***y. The search engine bots must be having a field day. :tongueout:

Title: Re: The Official Show Your Support for Menard Day
Post by: dean on February 24, 2007, 10:32:29 AM

Wow this is just a total karma love-fest at the moment isn't it!  I just feel like gushing, but I'll limit it to a 'AAAWWWWWWWWWWWW'.

Oh and Menard, just to add to the search engine bots' work:

penis, vagina, p***y p***y p***y, dirty schoolgirl, hentai, naughty librarian, bdsm, wet tshirt competitions and donkey man on girl on sheep action...

Actually that does remind me of a song by the Brazilian Girls, where the chorus just goes 'p***y p***y p***y marijuana...'

But pledging for karma aside, it would be interesting if this was converted into a karma-charity drive.  Not only could we give karma to those in need, but we could also pledge to donate to charity if we can get Menard up [or down] to a certain point.

Of course, it would be ultimately funnier if we went down, but shhh...

Haha, oops, I should get some negative karma for not thinking of the backlash of such a rude tirade.  Sorry Andrew.

Though I must admit to feeling a touch violated that Google doesn't appreciate my taste in music lyrics, among other things...

Google 1, Dean 0...

Oh and I'm guessing we have to allude to Zap's avatar through a series of colorful, flowery metaphors and euphemisms from now on.

Hmmm...I'll start; everybody feel free to add to the list.

Wow!
I got two karma for doing nothing.
I was at 22 and now out of the blue, I have two more.
Thanks to whoever gave it!

Makes me wonder if it was Menard or Scott.
I heard they give great karma!   :tongueout:

(this thread is filled with more sexual innuendo than I can handle!)   :teddyr:

The Wormhole :teddyr:

Hmm, after the picture a guy at work showed me on his camera phone, Homer Simpson is now a euphemism.

I thought of a word dean forgot to mention, very internet relevant too. But don't want to get on Andrew's bad side if it's the straw that breaks Google's back.

Well Yaddo, it's all in the subtle nuances of how to say it.

But one of the more interesting euphemisms for Zap's Avatar that I have heard just recently is 'shining golden battle axe wound'...

I do worry about some of the people I hang around with sometimes.

But only sometimes!

Oh and extra karma, just for the hell of it, to Menard for the wormhole comment!

The Marines of my last command quoted me on on my farewell plaque:

"You guys are the reason I lose sleep at night."

I seems fitting that I mention that here as well.

Dang, I'm busy for the last couple of days and look at all the fun I missed.

And Menard, I know you only mentioned me in your acceptance speech in a cheap attempt to get a karma point.  Well, it worked.  I may be cheap, but at least I'm easy.

Maybe this smilie - :hot: - is actually a she.

Or just assemble your own joke using the key words: "infected", "Paris Hilton", "fleet's in town", "kerosene" and "home remedy cure".

That reminds me; now that we can't fully use the word p***y (and my use of the English language is so crippled without it) we need to come up with a substitution word that we all recognize. Is there such a word?

Blossom?

Peeps?

Stranglepuppy? (just thought that sounded weird).

Remember, the new word must be multi-faceted so it can mean different things like the old one. :teddyr:

Funny you mention that Menard.
This morning on the Bob & Tom radio show, they were talking about this exact same thing.
Code words for body parts...

For example, they referred to the v****a as "fine china".

Great Divide
hidden hug
pistil
root cellar
the do drop inn/dew drop inn
cubby hole
the mail slot (I would say "mail box" but "box" is already a well know euphemism)
the monkey with the hammer - a tribute to an old inside joke at work

I feel really dirty now, and I like it.

Edited to get my plant terms correct.

"Root Cellar".

Why does that sound both dirty & sexy at the same time?
