Title: ALERT: What should we name Clockworkcanary's film?
Post by: Scott on March 05, 2007, 07:58:04 PM
If you have a name for Clockworkcanary's Interactive Bad Movie (http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,113110.0.html) leave a movie title and we'll put it on the poll. You can change your vote by removing your prior vote and voting again.

Participation is encouraged. The fate of Earth depends on it.

The Solar System needs your help (and so does this script).

WARNING................DANGER DANGER.................WARNING......................DANGER DANGER

Dead Conquer the Earth for me.

It's a real space opera and there is no telling what will happen when the Doomtroopers face The Horde Of The Dead or when Lord Brando's Cambodian Army takes on Louis Dehovens Clowns from Downtown.

Did Dehoven use the earth to graze his moose since Uranus has no green marshes for the moose? All these questions must be answered.

I say that you use "Super Porcupine Omelet."  That way there is no pressure on the storyline; viewers will expect nothing in particular.

  You got it.

Sounds like all our characters will be back for breakfast and I'm guessing Aaron will have finally picked up the milk.

Andrew, your correct about not putting any restraints on the script as I'm sure Clockworkcanery was also thinking to some degree.

Trying to get more attention to the post and more contributors to the story.  :teddyr:

I know we have some good writers on the forum.

We could go reverse Reservoir Dogs style...

EG, twist the name of our movie into the title of a better, already copyrighted foreign film, which is why I suggest turning "Aaron & Jin's Excellent Adventure" into, "Le Fabulou Destinie D'Jean Un Aron"

Good idea Mr. Briggs. (though I'm not sure Aaron & Jin are going to make it  without your help.)

I just helped! Or hurt, depending on your point of view.

Oh I'm sure the boys can make it out of this one.  No matter the boss battle.

I hope to contribute when I get a bit more thinkin' time, but so far I'm enjoying the mayhem!

I really like Clockworkcanary's photos and character bios.

Wow, I never thought the story would be this popular - I'm thinkin' your ideas are awesome.  I'm going to have to think a bit before I vote though  - I do like Andrew's suggestion of not restricting the film script by it's title, but then, it could help parts of the plot/subplot keep focus, but then again, I like the chaotic, unpredictableness so far, so I guess I'm ok either way.

But yes, we should come up with something rather creative.  And thanks for the props on the character bios - I know the graphic design on it could be better but for a rushed, sneakin-it-at-work job, it's going to have to suffice.  Thanks all who've contributed and thanks to all who will.

Edited to Add: I've thought about it for 20 seconds - I think I like, "Super Porcupine Omelet" the best.  Perhaps, at some point, we can make a strange reference to it here and there that won't make sense to the characters or the audience...but then again...maybe it can  :)  Anyway, how long before the poll closes and we rename the story?

...off to the thread.

Voting will close 24 hours from now.......................that should be enough. Unless you want more time?

That's plenty of time - cool.  Looks like we have a title pretty well in the lead.  Can't wait to read what happens next.

It would also be neat to have updated short recaps posted here, so others can catch up and contribute to the story.

Yeah that's a good idea.  Perhaps we can use this thread to talk about what we think/how we react to the story, without cluttering up the story thread itself -what ya think?

Oh...and I really like the idea of trying to get more writers to join in.  I'm glad we have a few readers and I'm really hoping they help contribute here and there, even if it's something small.  Don't be afraid to write people - we won't make fun of ya too much lol j/k.  Hell, feel free to do a "meanwhile..." or a flashback scene (relevant or not to the story - your choice), "elsewhere" or any type of subplot ya want.  I say make references to scenes in your favorite movies like I do (lots of Star Wars references as you've probably noticed), parodies, farces, plays-on-words, etc.,

So I challenge each of you readers who haven't written yet to at least make a post :)  -especially the site's main writers :)  heh.

...and BTW, I hope I'm not the only one reading this story and laughing out loud while everyone else at work looks at me like I'm crazy!

A side board with recaps to the main thread is ideal.

Well, I've created a recap! It's posted under "THE DEAD CONQUER EARTH"

And how about using SPO for the official name, Dead conquer and Fabulou as foreign release titles, and the others for possible working titles?

Was it OK to put the News  Update in there, because if it isn't I can delete it? I don't want to ruin the story in any way.

What does no response mean? Don't worry, it won't bother me if you would like this "News Break" deleted......

Well..........I've contacted Lord Brando about this and he never liked the commercialization of anything. What he is doing at this moment is preparing a portal that will take you into the script so you can delete the post, but you have a limited time in there before they move on. A post like this can only be deleted this way. Your already delaying his castle search this morning. If you get stuck in there you'll have a hard time getting back to the forum except through the Interactive Bad Movie thread. The choice really isn't up to you. Lord Brando wants it removed, so the decision is really out of your hands................ Be patient you'll be with Lord Brando as soon as everthing is aligned.

Sorry I haven't been posting - stayed home today with sick kid so barely time to log on.  I'm cool with whatever - hehe - commercials - never thought of that hehe.  Too bad youtube can't be done on this dialup at home and it's is firewalled at work, so someone will have to describe it for me lol.

Clockworkcanary and Poogie, you both don't understand. Lord Brando says the post has to be removed. Lord Brando is making the arrangements to bring her into the script in order to remove the "commercial". A portal is being aligned and in order for the post to be deleted properly she must enter the storyline. This is not easy and the dangers are great. If she dosn't get out in time the portal will close and she won't be able to get back to California. My only concern is who's going to cook dinner for Dennis?

And Scott has officially won his very own, official, BadMovies jacket, available in his choice of color; all come with extra long sleeves.

I hope your kid is feeling better.....I put in a News Break.....But after I did it I wasn't sure if it was okay.....It said."NEWS BREAK NEWS BREAK...Man's head found in airplane compartment." I put up a video of a man trying to close the upper compartment in an airplane and he kept slamming it and it wouldn't close.....finally the camera moved to the left and another man was standing there with his head in the compartment. I ended it with "News at 11:00....... That's that....At the bottom I put "Now back to the scheduled program." It is okay with me to delete this, it was just a funny little thing I was adding and after I did it I had second thoughts.
