Title: Karma Points
Post by: fortunato on March 15, 2007, 01:07:30 PM
Just curious about this. I joined within the last week, this is my 41st post and I have 3 karma points.
What's the karma points thing about?

You get a karma point whenever someone thinks you deserve one.  They just have to click on "applause".  Conversely, when someone else thinks you should be taken down a notch, they'll hit "boo, hiss".  You don't get to up your own karma, though.  That wouldn't be kosher.

It's a way of measuring how much of an ass kisser someone is.

I sure hope not.  The intent is not to make anyone better than the other, but so people can look at someone's karma and get an idea if they often write posts that are funny, informative, or otherwise useful to someone else.  If I ever think it is working against the harmony of the community (or am told that by a number of members) I will immediately turn it off.

I sure hope not.Because  I have a lot of karma, and I am  not,and never have been,an "ass kisser". Menard has lotsa karma, and I can honestly say he is so far from "ass Kisser" as they get. Maybe ass kicker, or ass grabber, or jack ass,or something from another planet....
Simply don't use the karma button. Personally,if I got a bad karma for every time I did spelling errors or just plan turned a post into a mess, I would be negative something or another by now....

   (Just kidding,Menard........kisskisskiss) :teddyr:

Of course, one could create a dummy account and award oneself all the 'Karma' in the universe.

Hmmm... can you Karma total be bigger than your post count?

That top layer of cookies looked odd.  Did you fry them up on a skillet?

And I'm pretty certain that someone is going to be cross with you once they wake up.

I'm not cross with the wife, the picture is posed, I'm really not that fat, it's just that I'm about 8 1/2 months along, expect to be back to normal in about 6-7 weeks, and in the Guinness Book of World Records. :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle:

Dennis, I just want to know what you use those binoculars for?

My wife and I are amateur astronomers, emphasis on amateur because we're self taught. Those are 15 x 75 binoculars on a camera tripod, I find that they work well for spotting things because they have a wider field of view than the telescopes we use. Our house is so small (720 sq. ft.) that there's no room for them anyplace else.

What?...........I know, they look like there's a glaze or they're all oily. The recipe said to deep fry them..  :teddyr: ........No, it must be because of the flash from the camera, they're Oatmeal and the specks of Oatmeal seem to be shinning. Anyway they're delicious.

And stuck a cookie half in his mouth.  I did not think you had actually managed to stage him like that while taking a nap, unless you drugged him with horse tranquilizers first.  Dennis, I must say that you were older than I had thought.

Don't get mad, I'll be there someday too - in about twenty years (maybe fifteen with the kids' influence).

Andrew, up until we became parents I had a full head of black hair. It started turning grey when Kari started walking, it started thinning when she hit adolescence, started falling out in bunches when she started dating. I have just one child, you have 3, well two and one on the way, do the math, it might take only 5 or 6 years to get where I am, of course without the abdominal enhancement that the wife added.

Same here...
I had this impression that you & Poogie were a thirty or forty-something married couple.

By the way, those cookies look delicious!
All you need is a big glass of milk to go with them.

Isn't it peeeeerrrty?  The one we had before was about 50 years old, we bought it used.
Those binoculars are great, they're almost as strong as our first telescope, we can see Jupiter pretty clearly with them.
